Anyone have pics of this suit in person? The website makes it look rather shiny for a work environment.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

This is my first post here on SF, besides the introduction post. Now I have a question that I hope you can help me with.

I have decided to buy a Sienna-suit but there is one thing bugging me about the measurements shown in the size-chart. When comparing all the measurements with some of my own suits from other brands in the same size, they all seem to match pretty well, except the shoulder-measures. As you can see, I have inserted two pics showing the back of the jacket. The first picture shows how the shoulder width of the jacket is measured by Suitsupply, in a crooked line from shoulder to shoulder, passing the collar. The problem is that the Suitsupply jackets measure like 4-5 cm less than my own jackets when I measure this way, in the same size of course. ALL other measurements are a few cm larger on the SS jackets than my own. However, when I measure my jackets the way I have poorly drawn in the other picture with the red arrow going horizontal from shoulder to shoulder, the measures match the ones in the SS-chart pretty well. English isn't my first language, and I find it kind of hard to express exactly what I mean, but I hope you understand.

Would any of you be kind enough to measure one of your SS-jackets and compare it to the measurement given in the chart. Two measurements should be taken, like in both pictures.

I know that one can simply order two suits and then send one back, but since my measures seem to differ so much, I'm not shure even what sizes to order at all. I need the suit when graduating from University in the beginning of January so I'm in kind of a hurry. For your information, I contacted the ss customer service but the man there could't help me as he didn't have a suit nearby..

Thanks a lot!

PM me if no one responded to you.

I was in the Madison Avenue store and actually tried it on...it is not as shiny as the picture makes it seem....I had to select the Navy Striped Napoli instead because thats the only one they sell in separates due to my huge soccer legs (42R jacket yet I have to get 40 trousers which go with a 46R and have a recut) below are pics of the navy napoli you ask of:

Looks good, are those the separate trousers or the ones that come with the 42R? Might have to order separates too then, my thighs measure 26" with a 34" waist... well, trousers are easy to alter.

It's the Blue Plain Lazio.  I don't have them in hand yet for real pics but here's a closeup from searching

This was not the separate Napoli. My thighs measure 26.5-27" at the biggest point and according the the knowledgeable sales rep at the store, he said: "I do not feel comfortable selling you this suit because the thighs are too tight and there is not enough give to let them out."

Hence why I went with the separate pieces. The only thing that isn't great at this time is that they only sell 2 pieces in separates a Navy Blue thin Pinstripe and a Grey thin Pinstripe. What I am going to have to do from now on which is what he advised is to do the Blue Line program which will make it easier to have the fabrics I want while not sacrificing pant size because like you I have broad shoulders for the 42R and a thin waist measuring 33.5" with bigger thighs so it can be a struggle and the Blue Line is about $100 more as he said so it shouldn't be too bad only downside is it takes 6-8 weeks for delivery so have to start thinking ahead.

Exquisite look CP. I'm truly thrilled that my first SS Napoli will be done come Friday. Was also able to pick up 3 shirts and 5 ties (you were not kidding about the great quality for the price)

Thanks!

I love their ties. The shirts fit me very well but the buttons are cheap, cheap, cheap. I don't like the idea that the collar stay is a permanent part of the shirt--it is not removable.

I picked up a Napoli during that very brief time when the Outlet store was open. It is a clean cut looking suit. My tailor could not believe the price. He pointed out several small construction details that I would never have appreciated. Looking forward to seeing your pictures of your new Napoli.

Right now, I have a Washington, two Havanas, a Napoli, and a Lazio. I did order a La Spalla which I loved dearly, but there was only a 1/4 inch of fabric to let out on the sides. Reluctantly, it went back. Of the first four models, all of them fit me well; all of them have a slightly different fit and character. When it is finished--sometime, next week--I am curious as to how the Lazio and the Napoli will compare in fit and feel. The Napoli is certainly a safe, stylish coat. The Washington was my first SS coat. After I purchased it, I had buyer's remorse. But, now, that I've worn it a few times, I really like it. The "sprezz" touches--the peak lapel, ticket pocket, 3 button fold, etc...--are not at all "costume-like". When I have worn it, I always receive nice comments. Having said that, I believe--at least, for me--that one Washington in the wardrobe is sufficient.

So i got the suit i ordered from SS but it was too baggy (obviously), i went to the store to get it altered and they said they could fix it. I got it back yesterday and it's still is way too baggy. Do you guys think i can still return it? i know it has been altered, but i really can't wear this suit.

Thanks for the informative write up CP. I have a Sienna, quite a few Lazios and a havana. A Washington and a Jort are on their way from Holland. I have been a bit wary of the Washington so far, but the fabric was exactly what I have been looking for a long time, so I reckoned it was worth the risk. Of the cuts I already own, the Sienna is probably my favourite, but they are all very nice suits. I agree that the shirts are not to the same high standards as the suits. I have a double breasted winters coat on the way. Hope it doesn't disappoint smile.gif
