Also, does anyone know about this Meer collection that's apparently in the NYC stores only ?

I have a La Spalla. The fabric feels awesome (90% wool 10% cashmere) and I think it's the cheapest fully canvassed suit that you can get at retail price.

At the same time, if you're willing to spend more time looking for good deals, you can probably find something better at that price.

On Monday, I was in Chicago, and I had an opportunity to stop in at the SS store and tried on this very suit. The fabric, as Sprezz said, "feels awesome". The style is very sleek. OTR, it was nearly a perfect fit. Even though I told myself that I was not going buy anything when I entered the store, I pulled the trigger.

I'm looking to add a bit to my suit selection within the next month or two, and I wanted to get a few opinions on "what's next". Currently, I have a navy suit from Suit Supply that I recently purchased, and I really enjoy the look and quality of it. Unfortunately, outside of that suit, my closet is pretty bare. I have a cheap black suit I've owned since college and a cheap grey Banana Republic suit that has managed to hold me over for most of the past year, but I'm going to have to start wearing suits more often in my job. Other than those suits and a tan sport coat, I'm empty.

I'm young and just starting off, so my closet is kind of an "empty slate" in the suit department. All that being said, having a blue suit, what would you all purchase as your second and third "workhorse" suits for midweek wear? The office I work in is fairly relaxed, more business casual than anything else. On any given day, you'll see everything from a loud windowpane suit and no tie to a navy suit, solid tie, on a white shirt. I just say that to give an idea of what "might fly" around here... pretty much anything.

Sorry for the long post, but can you guys fire a few opinions at me? Much appreciated.

I would get a charcoal and a mid-grey for my next two. After that a navy pinstripe and grey pinstripe. From there it is personal preference but you could look into a navy or grey glen plaid, a brown, a windowpane, a chalk stripe.

Got my suit in today! Blue Napoli from the Purple Line - 40R (normally a 40L with other suits). Here are some pics. To my noob eyes, the pants have to be shortened, but what do you guys think? Let me know if you need more pics.

Anyway to lengthen it via tailoring? I think I'm caught between a 40R and a 38L. The 38L should hopefully be in next week.

Curious why you didn't try the suit in a 40L if that's what you normally wear?

From what I've read on the SS thread + customer service, the recommendation for these "slim" suits are to size down one. Hence why I went with the 40R. It also made the most sense based on the measurement guide SS had on their website.

No no, size down doesn't mean you go from Long to Regular, it means you go from 40L to 38L. That'd explain the short sleeves also, which can hopefully be tailored to the right length. The shorter jacket makes this look, to me, like something for nights out at clubs.

A kop from the outlet:

Ignore the creases - it got repacked by a forwarder - it's a silk/linen mix. $100 or $150 I can't remember.

I am pleased with the SS neck ties. At this price, they have nice wool fabric and some interesting colors / patterns.
