Suitsupply NYC - Page 130

Am I just imagining things with the sleeves, then? I always thought half an inch to an inch of cuff was supposed to show. I didn't measure it, but nearly all of the cuff would be covered by the jacket. Does the jacket look a little full in chest or just okay?

Yeah, sorry. This is the first time I've noticed one of my shoulders drop compared to the other.

In every single one of those pictures I see shirt cuff somewhere. At worst you need 3/8ths to half inch shortened which shouldn't make the buttons look bad. I'm no tailor, but maybe the higher button stance makes it feel full in the chest. dunno. does it feel full? Post in the tailor thread.

(sounds like you're trying to talk yourself out of it. Just send it back if you don't like it. better to pass on it than second guess the purchase every time you put on the suit.

Totally agree with donuts. Don't like the suit ? Return it while you still can.... But don't do it on account of the sleeve length

That's really annoying. I was just in the store and the London is the only cut that looks good on me. The button stance is just too high on everything else.

Size 48 fits me spot on, but the sleeves are too long. 24 is not an option because the jacket will be too short and too wide.I must shorten SS jackets sleeves from 2 to 4 cm (At most 1.5"), depends on the jacket. I know they use functional buttonholes, but 1,5" at most is doable and I guess no one will actually notice, agree? Shortening from the shoulder is not an option at all.

Well I'll definitely be returning this one because of the stitching on the sleeves, but I appreciate the help guys. Thanks.

Went to Suitsupply last Tuesday in NYC.  after asking for a salesman to help me, I received great service and the salesman was very knowledgeable.  He dug around and found suits that fit me almost perfectly off the rack.  He recommended a few alterations that I agreed with and I should received the suit in sometime next week.  I was really pleased with the fit and the service for a $469 suit.

There was a bloke in the Broom Street shop named Travis who was excellent. I think he now works for Lauren or something but he's no longer there. I also talked to knowledgable fella called Tyler but he was returning to Atlanta to manage the upcoming opening there, so New York's loss is Atlanta's gain. Anyway my experience has been similar - staff are helpful and knowledgable without being pushy. It's just a bit crazy that what they have in store rarely matches what's available online.

Yep, and the range varies from region to region. When I was in their Amsterdam store over xmas, they had a whole range of tweed that they didn't have days later in their Vigo Street store in London.

^^ nope, full suit, which i'd been hoping for but given up on. tried one on a weeks ago and when i went back they had sold it. assumed it was discontinued and not coming back, but they really needed this staple, so glad to see it.

Interesting, they don't have that one on the EU site, only a beige linen copenhagen. Didn't know they had different products in the US.
