I'd also be willing to collect for a group of people in NYC from the outlet if someone over there was willing to do a proxy trip.

I mean why not...I'm working 200m next to the store in Dusseldorf, Germany and it's just a 1h drive to their outlet in Roermond, NL.

Got my SS suit, opinions? Think it will look good if I take in the sides a little and shorten the sleeves.

I was in New York this past weekend and went to Suitsupply intending to view for myself their quality and buzz. I work out and am short at 1,7m so there's never been an off-the-peg suit that fit me hence I have only order MTM in HKG. I tried on a navy Washington fit (something I wouldn't have of considered merely from their website as I prefer shorter cuts) in 38S and it fit me like a glove. I caved in and bought the 3 piece suit for 569$ plus alterations for which I am awaiting  now.

I am so impressed with SuitSupply, their product and their service. I never thought I would buy off the peg but they have converted me. I walked in with jeans and sneakers and the salesman gave me Suitsupply shoes and shirt to complete the look that made my decision easier. I'll update when I get the suit!

You're nearly in the same boat as me then. The suit I posted over your post is me wearing 38 short and I'm 172. Just need to take in the sides, shorten the sleeves and trousers and it will be good. I assume as 170 the 38 short trousers were too long right?

I think this looks good and I agree with your assessment of tailoring tweaks.

rankiz,

yes I tapered and shortened the trousers, shortened the sleeves and body of the jacket by ~2 cm.

That makes 3 of us, however, with my measurements, the size 35R is what I am eyeing. I am dying to get my hands on one of their suits but atm I have other engagements :banghead: hopefully by Christmas time I will be able to at least get a jacket

I've been to the SuitSupply Vigo Street and went to the SuitSupply Westfield store in London, just today.

Amazing! Brilliant stores, brilliant staff - do check out the SuitSupply photo book, which is a collection of all their advertising campaigns, including their tits and arse approach to selling suits. Very nice indeed!

38S Lazio and Washington fit really well. Sienna was slightly off, I couldn't put my finger on it, but there wasn't a whole range in my size (38S), so it could have been that particular suit. Soho is interesting - very cool. The sleeves and legs will need to be taken up as I'm 168cm, but only a fraction in the sleeves, maybe 1cm, which means the sleeves won't have to be taken up from the shoulder - thank god!

Sportscoats are slightly shorter in both the body and the arms, and their overcoats are incredibly soft, the cashmere is nice and thick and no noticeable padding on the shoulders.

Staff are excellent, had a great chat, explained I was on my way to Amsterdam on Thursday and they actually said hold off on buying until I'm there as it's cheaper and a wider variety. I wasn't planning on buying anyway, but I thought the suggestion of holding off spoke volumes of the customer service - rather than trying to push a sale and chase commissions, they opted for what was best for me. It may seem minor, but I appreciated it none the less.

Also there was some models in store that I don't recall seeing online, and some models online that they didn't have in store, but they did have fabric books with swatches so you got more than just 'this is what it looks like on a monitor' that we have online.

can anyone confirm that SS suits & jackets have high armholes?

I was thinking of checking out this tuxedo at Suit Supply this weekend, to have ready by New Year's. Anyone else have it and is satisfied?

Define high armholes. They are low-ish to my standards, but certainly not bad.

A little higher than your average suit..funny enough my gray Napoli has armholes as high as my Zegna Milano's but my Blue Napoli is a lower..from what I can discern, they have three factories in Italy, China and somewhere else.. so when you buy online it depends where your suit comes from that determines armhole height I believe..
