The thing is that I don't know where to get a nice fitting suit without spending a huge amount of money on MTM. SS seems like my last chance, considering the price point.

I just checked out the difference between the sizes; the trousers need to be let out about 1.5" in the waist and legs. Do you think that'd be possible? Otherwise, I'll try to show them to my tailor tomorrow.

I ordered sizes EU 42 and 44 (that'd be US 32 and 34). The thing is that the size 42 jacket fit me very well, the trousers on the other hand were a little too tight. Although, the 44 trousers fit me fine.

Is it possible to alter the 42 trousers to a 44? It seems like there's enough fabric for that. Also, do you guys know if the rise differs between the two sizes (42-44)?

I think a lot of people have this problem with SS's skinny trousers.  I'd be a much more frequent customer if they sold separates.

I am not sure if they have that much fabric in the seam for that. When you let out a pant all the way along the seam you run the risk of tearing them given that there is less wool holding the pant together. Also I understand your frustrations as I have the same problem. I generally stick with SS separates..they have three right now and I also have a Spier and Mackay suit which you can order separates in. I would say the Spier and Mackay is a bit of a slimmer fit than the napoli but is definitely on par.

I did not know this.  Any chance of a link?  Thanks.

That's probably not possible.  I think each seem can be let out close to .5".  I'd recommend trying a Lazio in one size up.  The jacket will fit about the same as a size smaller in a york.  The pants on the other hand will probably be a full size bigger.  The Lazio doesn't have nearly as much structure, though.  I like the softer look and feel of the Lazio better personally.

^ Thats exactly what I did. Originally wanted a Napoli, but the pants were too small. Sized up in the Lazio and just got the waist and seat slightly taken in. Same could be said for the Washington if you like the wide peak lapel, which in my opinion, is awesome.

Well, after listening to you guys it feels like I should wait with my suit purchase. I was going to wear it during Christmas, but it might be better for me to go with my navy odd jacket (which actually is an altered EU 44 Havana - the fit is nearly perfect!) and a pair of grey flannel trousers, while postponing the suit purchase. Let's hope SS opens their Stockholm store soon (which was due this fall, but they've delayed it with no further dates given), as their MTM prices are "acceptable" - at least for someone like me, who's barely turned twenty...

I did order this (link below) Lazio suit too, but I regretted ordering it before its arrival, as I rather needed a basic navy suit. As you can see, the fabric is actually pretty structured (I think it might be flannel). Although, the fit wasn't the best, especially in the shoulders as they were a little more padded than the York. I'm really slim, hence the reason why it's so hard finding jackets that are well fitting in the shoulder area. The structured fabric might actually have made the suit look worse than it actually was (the fabric was thicker than the York too).

I've already tried a Washington jacket; didn't like the lapels at all. Single breasted jackets look much better with notch lapels, at least that's my preference.

I understand from a pretty reliable source that the US outlet will open up again early January..

@MrTopCat I mentioned to the suitsupply rep on Facebook that people on here like the Lazio lapels.  It turns out the guy I was talking to browses this thread and also likes your looks.

Haha that's pretty awesome, I'm flattered.

I do like the Lazio lapels too, but the shoulder padding can be hit or miss with my shoulders, or I'm probably just too used to unpadded shoulders now.

My only Lazio, the texture/pattern looks fuzzy on the smaller image but if you enlarge it you can really see the subtle checks.

Those shoulders look good to me.

I only have a blue Napoli (plain); I'm wondering what would make a good second suit? Something charcoal? Any recommendations?
