There's also a pretty nice brown Mercer suit but the buttoning stance looks ridiculously high compared to usual; which is high enough as it is. Anyone have experience with the Mercer fit?

The brown Washington is pretty nice too

Please note, this has not been tailored at all by me.  The seller said he got the pants hemmed, and then put it up on ebay.  The length looks good without my having to tailor, what do you think?

Looks like you scored.  Not having to hem the pants is like another $8 savings as well.  Looks great.

The York fits looser than the Lazio.

I have the York in Navy, 40R, 30x31w. I had just about the opposite experience from El Argentino. I initially wanted the Napoli or Lazio, but the sales rep in DC talked me out of them saying that since I carried my height and mass in my upper body, the York would be a better fit. He was right, I tried the Napoli on and it was way too tight around the chest and shoulders.

I'm a little over 6 feet with broad shoulders and I lift a lot. York is the way to go if you're either muscular, or portly.

I agree with you. I liked the fit, and the SA tried to talk me out of it. I agree it's more suited to broad guys up top

I fell in love with the Havana Navy Cashmere, and I have a Navy Blazer from SanD that is mis-sized, been looking for an excuse for a new navy blazer (and camel, and wool hemp...)

Maybe I should grab this one instead, at a much better price point:

I think it is pretty odd that a pure wool navy havana is $100 less than a wool/cotton blend?

The cashmere jacket you linked to is relatively heavy/thick for a cashmere jacket. It has a very soft feel, but it does look like a fall/winter jacket in real life.

The wool jacket is a very basic year-round jacket. It has a rougher touch. The wool/cotton jacket you've seen actually is a great jacket and feels more premium than the wool jacket, a bit thicker and softer (but also slightly more winter-ish). If you're looking for a basic navy blazer the C847 will be perfect.

Just an FYI, if you ever are interested in an item that is no longer listed for sale on SS' website, shoot them an email and they may just have it in stock either in store or at their distribution center (depending on what country you live in). I was looking for a Washington Jacket that was taken down but I had remembered seeing it, I emailed them and within a few hours they located it, set up a password on their website for me and the jacket arrived the next day.

How do you get a 40 jacket with a 30 pant?

Haha, I would have gone for it anyway. Though I tend to learn more conservative stylistically and the Napoli made me feel like I was in a Thom Browne suit.

Weightlifting and swimming :D

But more seriously, I'm not actually sure what the pant measurements were originally, just that those are my adjusted measurements.

And how do your trousers look? I have a similar drop and an OTR suit is challenging for any seamstress or tailor... at least in my experience all have told me that there is only so much they can adjust in trouser so they would not look bad and  still was not enough because they still were pretty big in the waist area while fitting right in the buttocks/legs... have any pictures you can show us, please?

I have the exact same drop. Am 30 in the waist and 40 in the chest. I also weightlift at the gym, but nothing drastically I would say compared to some on-steroid fellows there ..

Trouble is that if I order the 40 suit, it usually come up with the 34 trousers .. So there is a excess of 4 inch right out of the box in waist alone ..

The 32 trousers are good everywhere else except in the waist. So, I usually purchase them and get those 2 inch off at tailor. What a mess, ha?

That's why I tend to purchase the trousers and jackets separately - mix and match .. Something that SS started offering recently. Hope they will add more choices ..

Ordered this suit today:

http://eu.suitsupply.com/en_GB/suits/havana-grey-check/P4711.html?cgid=Suits

I saw it a ton of times on the website before, but didn't really think much of it because it looked kinda weird on the model pic. This shot and the fabric close-up look great though.

I thought I wanted a brown suit, but after seeing them release so many brown suits that were too plain, I realised that I just wanted a suit that has a bold pattern, and this one seems perfect.

It's wool-cashmere so it's a little bit more pricey than I'd like to pay for a 2-piece suit, so if it isn't perfect I'll probably return it.

What do you guys about this suit ? It's for work but I was thinking of wearing the trousers as separate as well.

I picked one up two weeks ago. The jacket is beautiful. I'm planning to wear both as separates. Probably more than as a suit.

Anyone thinking of pulling the trigger on this corduroy Havana that's up for pre-orders? I'm intrigued.

I almost did on the brown one but I purchased the light brown Jort jacket instead. More expensive for only the jacket but the Jort fits me so well and has such great material I couldn't resist.
