Why does nobody like the functional sleeves? Assuming that you dont have to adjust the sleeve length more than 0.5", I think its a cool extra detail to an already well made coat.

I have to admit that the functional sleeves are one of the touches to Suitsupply suits I like the most, other then then generally slimmer fit. On an odd not it seems to be an interesting conversation starter with some of my clients if they notice them. However, I am lucky that a 40s in the Napoli line fits me off the rack almost perfectly if they didn't I might feel differently.

Has anyone tried one of the 140 Sienna models? I need to pick up a couple more suits and I was thinking of splurging on maybe one of the new sienna's instead of the Napoli.

Finally got back a few days ago to buy my suit I promised myself.

In the one or two times I've been there before, it was evident that much of their standard wares were gone/picked over. In both 38/40, they had almost no standard navy/charcoal/grey suiting at all - they indicated they are having extreme difficulty keeping everything in stock...even the Washington models were gone. I ended up buying a pale navy pinstripe. The jacket is decently slim and the pants fit similarly well, and it is the first OTR suit I've bought which did not need heavy alterations. The only minor fixes I needed were to hem the pants and lengthen the sleeves a bit (if you buy in-store, the tailoring is very, very cheap). I will be going back.

[Props to the extremely helpful, if hilariously dressed, sales associates there. I found all of them extremely cordial and knowledgeable in my interactions]

picked up a navy napoli suit at the weekend. screen shot of the nifty digital receipt to show you some sample tailoring prices, very reasonable.
as mentioned above the selection was not what i was expecting based on browsing the website, they seemed quite low in stock.
i love the look of the washington but just did not look good on me.
also maybe useful info for some, you can mix & match pant sizes on some of the suits, i was deciding between 32 / 34 pants but the 34 had a lot more volume in the leg so i let out the 32 about an inch.

Hi,

i post a couple of pics of my jackets. I hope it will help demonstrating the differences between the cuts. The blue one is a Sienna, the light brown one is a Copenhagen and the patterned one is the Italia line.
The Copenhagen line is much more fitted than the Sienna or Italia line. The shoulder padding in the Italia line is stronger than in the Sienna line. Copenhagen is unconstructed. All jackets have the same size, i.e. 38L.

I would also be very interested in learning about what you think about the fit of my jackets. Should I alter something? Get another size?

Something seems off a little bit about the sienna .. there seems to be a collar gap which is really evident.. I dont know if its the way you are standing or the shirt but that is really obvious..and its pulling slightly which may be due to the wind.. the copenhagen and the Italia line look good though..

The shoulders seem to fit rather poorly on the Sienna... The others are really quite good all around.

that copenhagen is a nice looking jacket

+1

What's the typical turn around time on normal shipping with these guys? How long is it taking you all to receive your jackets and suits?

Can you tell me more about the Italia jacket? How does it compare to the fit & length of Washington? Button stance?
Also, can any confirm that is washington sport coats (Normal, full-lined "washington" and "washington-half," which are half-lined) are slightly shorter than the suit jackets? The description of "washington-half" indicates that they are indeed shorter, but not in their standard "washington" sport coats. I called to ask about this, but the rep was not sure.

I've found that sport jackets tend to be shorter than suit jackets. This is just based on trying things on in the showroom, though, so I don't know that I'm comparing Washington to Washington.

Thanks. I know for a fact that most of the sport coats (Italia, copenhagan) are shorter; I'm just unsure about Washington suit vs Washington sport coat vs Washington-half (short).

anyone has BB fitzgerald or regent can compare to any of SS cut? i dont have any access to any SS shop.

i am a dead-on 42R in either and looking to get a SS. from the measurements i have seen so far, i think i should go down to 40R as the shoulder is huge in 42. The BB ones have shoulder of about 18.5".
any help will be appreciated.

thanks!

To be honest, I think these are probably too short (the middle one definitely is), which is a little strange based on my experience with their suits. How tall are you exactly? I'm 6'2.5" and my 40l suits (Sienna and Napoli) aren't too short, but unless you're over 6'3", I can't imagine I could wear a 40l in their sportcoats based off this alleged length discrepancy between jackets and suits.

Seems like there is a collar gap on the Sienna - and something about the sleeves also - maybe to full ? the Italia looks best on you Imo, followed by the Copenhagen, but I would like to see it with something else than jeans. It also looks like your rigth shoulder is lower tha the left. this is escpecially pronounced in the back photos.

I disagree. The poster is wearing jeans which for most people under 40 hang down lower than their dress pants. Both the top and bottom cover his butt, and the middle one, which appears to be cotton or linen, is shorter because it's more casual.
