Up for sale is a bespoke Henry Poole formal or tuxedo jacket - the size appears to be best for a
42L. The Henry Poole label has a Cork street address - according to the firm's website, that would date this jacket anywhere from 1961 to 1982. Despite its age, this jacket appears to be in truly pristine condition, and the tailoring appears to be of the highest caliber with loads of handwork.
I'm certainly no expert on fashion or style, but the slim lapels and one-button closure seem to have a more contemporary look than the age would indicate, at least to my eye. The jacket is ventless with working button holes. I tried the jacket on myself and the armhole stance is quite high - the silhouette is quite slender. The jacket appears to be navy blue with a black silk or nylon lapels - I'm not entirely sure what the fabric composition is. The buttons are made from the same fabric as the lapels. The lapel fabric also lines the "front" portion of the inside of the jacket - its hard to characterize but I tried to provide an image. I think the 4th/last picture captures the true color of the jacket.
