I've been looking for a great alternative to the standard boat shoe. I like the idea of a casual leather shoes, but the boat shoe is far overplayed here in the southeast. I tried googling the name on the side of the sole on this shoes but don't think Im reading it correctly. Its something like Visvian. Can any of you lend a hand?

They are Visvim. Only two stockists in the states, Union and The Webster. No online sales. Try Tres Bien Shop for that style, but you'll have to contact them directly. However, for this type of shoe, I think Visvim is shit. Try Quoddy, Yuketen, Oak Street, or Epaulet. Visvim's sneakers, however, are awesome. Expect to pay $$$$ for these.

Damn those are some speedy and thorough responses! Thanks guys. I like the style of Oak Street/quoddy etc but don't think I can shell out the initial investment cost.

Check these two handmade operations out, both well-recommended by Jesse Thorn at Put This On. Been meaning to pick up some of the Town View mocs myself http://putthison.com/post/5741055716...w-moccasin-and

Those look very nice and extremely comfortable. The price point is also very pleasing. However the lack of a rubber sole sinks them. I get way too much rain here in the south during the summers and I dont know if I'd like my mocs sopping up whatever is on the floors of the hospital where I work.

What Im looking for here is the Clark's of boat shoes/mocs. While there are many brands and takes on a desert boot, Clarks puts forward a solid desert boot that can be resoled at an easily accessible price point. Are there any brands that put forward a mocassin like this? http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...en_ss09_07.jpg Something like these Yuketens would be great! Though I don't necessary need the mixed colored upper.
