examples of suit jackets as winter outerwear?

bought a beautiful yohji suit but the jacket fits too big/yohji for me
the shoulders and style of the suit are right, but the rest of the jacket's fit is too big and incongruous with my existing wardrobe
as a last effort to save this suit from being returned at a small loss, I ask if anyone has any experience/examples/fit pics of suit jackets being used as winter outerwear, layering under them, etc.

When it's -30C to -40C like last winter, a suit jacket as outerwear is probably not a good idea. Anyway a suit jacket would have to be really oversized to fit the amount of layering needed for this weather.

fall sure, real winter, not going to work. You can always put a sweater under, if it's thick enough it will work (look wise, temperature, not much below 0 C)

Repurposing the jacket as winter outerwear will not make it fit better. I'm pretty sure you'll be happier returning it.

Talking about deep winter here. Around here, the teeming masses of overcoated lawyers have not dropped dead -- though really, that wouldn't be a bad thing.
