Mail forwarding when between addresses

I've been tutoring this kid from Senegal that attends boarding school and now he wants to know where to forward his mail in the interim between now (moving back to Senegal for summer) and late august when he goes off to college in the US in another state. What is the best option? Just thought I'd ask because I didn't really know how to advise.

there used to be a chain called mail boxes etc, that is an option, or a post box - they still use those. rent one for a quarter and use that to collect the mail.

You can put a hold on your mail at the USPS. Just do that until he has a new address, then he can have someone mail all of his mail to him.

Or, he can get a PO box where he eventually will end up, and have his mail send there now.
