20+ y.o. Timberlands, when they were still made in the US.

When I actually go sailing I prefer Timberlands but I love Tods:

They're sleeker than the Sebago but the latter are more manish...

My Sperry's still look great after 5 years.

I'd like to try NDC but they're impossible to find in a reasonable selection of colors and sizes online.

I can only stand coming to these forums for limited dosages due to the overwhelming smugness that is ever present. Boat shoes are just fine to wear in public when dressed casually. Don't get it twisted. Wearing dress shoes constantly makes you look more feminine than manly (though some are going for that appearance).

Sebago's are definitely my favorite. I own the following two pairs and wear them constantly around town and get plenty of compliments from the ladies - and isn't that what it's all about?

I have a pair of Sperrys in suede finish, a basic penny loafer style and a rubber sole They are now 30 years old. Have been worn hundreds, if not thousands of times and until recently were still in GREAT shape. (Amazing what a brass suede brush can do.) Alas the rubber sole has finally started to split in two and I guess I'll retire them - as there seems to be no point in resoling them at their advanced age.

And just a word to the wise - they won't stink if you only wear them once a week and don't spill your liquor in them - Geez!

I guess I got my alotted wear out of this pair though.

My Alden boat shoes have held up well and been very comfortable after lots of walking and abuse.
