Yes, I realize you must not leave anything that might appear negative to Dems unchallenged for anyone reading this. It's why I can always count on the response.

I want them to make Senators actually read their damn recipe books instead of sitting in their nice AC'd offices and saying "We're fillibustering" and killing a vote. You should actually have to talk until everyone else gets too frustrated with your stubbornness to put up with it anymore, not just have a "Don't have 60 votes? Hahahahaha no vote for you!" option. Also, people would probably get infuriated watching a bunch of old douches read recipes for 20 hours on CSPAN, so there'd be some consequences for it.

+1. His performance on vote rigging by ACORN etc was a classic. He would have had a great career in the Soviet Union as a propagandist.

Excuse me for understanding the difference between vote fraud and voter registration fraud and not buying into your conspiracy theories.

Something very ironic about people getting up in arms about this when millions of guns are bought completely legally in the US and taken to Mexcio for the gangsters.

Maybe but what we are talking about here is a pro-active conspiracy by the Obama administration to distribute weapons in Mexico (for a political purpose) and the resulting inept conspiracy has resulted in significant carnage including the tragic death of a US Border Patrol officer. The 90% stuff up has then been superimposed upon with a criminal coverup that will involve the highest levels of the White House. Hence the efforts of Obama personally to hide the stuff up under "Executive Privilege".

Reading big headlines that some Dems are going to break rank with a party line vote and instead support a Holder in contempt of Congress charge. So what actually happens if that passes? Does he get jailed?

My guess, Holder can only get jailed if he walks into the Capitol building and gets arrested by the Capitol police, and they'll probably have to hold him in a capitol jail. Otherwise, probably just a pointless standoff unless Congress takes it to a federal court.

I wouldn't be surprised if a few Dems break ranks. This is probably near the ultimate in pointless kabuki votes. There's practically no consequence for Holder for voting to hold Holder in contempt, so do it if you're in a close race.

Thanks for the info. I guess he should be happy le Pelosi is no longer Speaker as apparently she was itching to toss someone in the Capitol clink. laugh.gif

Looks like a vote today and the Dems plan to walk out before the vote. I wonder if they'll head to Wisconsin? laugh.gif

The House voted 255-67, with one member voting "present," to cite Holder for contempt of Congress in a politically-charged vote stemming from an investigation into alleged gun-running by the U.S. government.

There is nothing alleged about it Justin. It's on the public record and that's precisely why the WH is attempting to thwart any further Congress investigation of this tragedy.

This is going to get super interesting. Holder is not going to get put in jail because this is a civil contempt charge. Now the federal courts will have to decide which carries more weight: Congress' power to investigate or the President's power to claim executive privilege. As a non-partisan, I hope the courts bitch slap the DOJ.
