Hair style help

21 years old. I'm currently recovering from a horrendous haircut. I got stuck with a brand new stylist, the guy butchered me. He ended up basically shaving my head with his scissors. Anyways, one of the problems with my hair is that it's both fine and thin, always has been. It always looks weird too, imo. http://imgur.com/a/8QYaJ#V5dTK I never realized how awful the top of my head looks. Jeez. Anyways, sorry for the shit pics. This is me after showering, quick towel dry, no combing no styling, nothing. Any suggestions? I feel like the back and sides are too long, basically the same length as the top which is giving me a poofy look or something. I've been looking around, and liked the look of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LkCwTcKQTk but I'm wondering if my hair is too thin and fine for it. Any recommendations? EDIT: Also, sorry if this is the wrong forum. New here

That is a bad cut. BTW, those Scandinavians in all of those hair products vids are blessed with very thick hair and good facial features - they could have the worst cuts ever and they'd still be able to pull it off. You might need 2 cuts, 4 weeks apart to get your hair on top long enough for these modified Jugend styles. Whatever you do, don't go to your next stylist without a video or pic(s) of your desired cut. Don't go back to that guy or that salon. Your next cut should cost around $40, depending on where you live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdlGeKiEHik http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5Ofc2bofo0 or (get it 1.5 inches shorter in the back than his. Show the vid below to your stylist) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArgD6yZ_UdI You can create a thicker looking top by getting Living Proof Hair Thickening Creme from Sephora. If you want it to look messier, try Jonathan Antin Dirt in conjunction, also at Sephora. You can return them if they don't work for you.http://www.livingproof.com/buy/full-thickening-cream Get some new shades for your new look. Who knows, maybe this will all turn out really well. Can't be worse. Post new pics after the cut.

Thanks a ton for the reply! Yeah, I'm not sure I can pull off the same look he has in the video I linked. I have similar facial structure, just a (imo) big nose. Plus, my hairs tend to sit on top of each other, so I have spots of exposed scalp. I've really only recently noticed this, maybe cause I've never looked before, maybe it's new from the haircut or maybe I'm going bald or something.

With that thickening creme, would it be in place of a gel, or before gel?

Thanks a ton for the reply

Put it on first, then blow dry your hair, then the gel. You might want to avoid gels since they'll have a tendency to clump, which might expose your scalp.

If you do think you're losing hair, don't wait and talk to your doc about Propecia. You'll be able to pretty much stop the loss.
