Have you any experience of the other Italian tailors?

No, i have not I'm afraid. I was influenced by simon crompton's recommenadation on PermanentStyle.co.uk and also limited by seeing someone in the uk. Do you have any other recommendations?

All help,and advice greatly appreciated

Afraid not. As you, I've searched the permanent style website. Simon seems to be reasonably happy with Solito. If you're looking for shirts, i can most definitely recommend Luca Avitabile.

Will be getting my suit in from Solito tomorrow, I was told that he would post it today.

Shirt wise - Luca's shirts are great, but i found Anna Matuozzo's finishing to be more refined. Of course, the price differs substantially as well, and my budget doesn't allow for that many AM shirts at the moment.

Can you let us know whether you're happy with the end result?

Yes of course.

As of the second fitting, I found the jacket to be immensely comfortable - this is my first bespoke suit. I was surprised by how clean it turned out, bearing in mind neapolitan jackets are not deemed to be as 'clean cut' as their english counterparts. The cut of the trousers was exceptionally good. I have rather bulky thighs, and in order to achieve a clean line on the trousers, mine have always been cut with more room. However, the Solito trousers achieved a clean line with a slight taper.

With regards the finishing, I looked at some of the completed jackets in naples and when Luigi visited in jan, and I do admit the stitching isn't as neat as my off the peg Attolini, or the jackets i've seen by Sartoria Vergallo (not neapolitan though) and Sartoria Pirozzi. However, the difference is very slight. I was told by those I asked that Solito cuts the nicest and cleanest shape for what i wanted - a typical neapolitan suit, so the slightly less refined finishing doesn't bother me as much.

I am interested in having a suit made by Panico though, and wouldn't mind travelling to Naples with those interested in having suits or shirts made!

Will post pictures as soon as I can:)

Do you mind me asking what about the finishing was perhaps not the best? Was it the external or internal finishing? A few people have mentioned that the finishing is not too cracking. To be honest, it does concern me somewhat.

To be honest, I can't pass judgement in detail on the quality and finishing at this point, because I still don't have my suit with me; but lets wait for the pictures to see the finishing!:)

Did you have jacket fitting in London when his father was there? A navy blue jacket.
