Hey guys I have never tried Amouage and wanted to hear feedback about it. I own tom-ford and creed fragrances but I wanted to try either Amouage Memoir or Amouge Reflection. I like a musky/spicy/woody scent so please tell me honest opinions for these 2 and I found them about $200 a bottle (non-ebay) which is pretty darn good so please let me know

This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

I have a small sample of Reflection. It's a good scent, but I think it's too sweet and nothing really innovative. Before you plunge and buy a bottle, I HIGHLY suggest you try them out first. I also suggest you try out Jubilation XXV. I think that fits the bill of what you want more than Reflection. No comment on Memoir as I've never tried it. Reflection is not at all musky or spicy in my opinion.

You can go through perfumedcourt.com to purchase small samples, though they tend to be on the pricier side. I suggest Aedes de Venustas: http://www.aedes.com/samples.php They have a program where you can purchase 7 small samples of scents for $15, I think. Been a couple months since I first used them. It's good because you can sample a wide variety of scents for a really good price. They also have a good selection of scents to choose from, including the Amouage line. Definitely try out the Jubilation XXV.

Memoir is distinctly different from Jubilation XXV, but it does have a linear opulent sweet accord that follows Jubilation's path in a different way (a safe bet for GreenFrog, I'd say). It's effectively a rich "˜green' scent. I don't have a problem with longevity, but Memoir does project a fair bit more. Memoir actually most reminds me of the discontinued Le Feu d'Issey (I'm surprised to never see this mentioned). My favourite Amouage, and the only one I really like, is Gold.
As for other houses, there's heaps out there. I wouldn't follow the masses. Sample whatever piques your interest. Houses that I highly recommend are Parfumerie Generale and Diptyque. There's always Guerlain and Caron. Montale is another (you don't need more than one aoud). Some of their non-aoud fragrances are good despite their reputation to the contrary. You might also like to try the Serges Lutens exclusives. Mazzolari, The Different Company, Maître Parfumeur et Gantier etc. Use the database at Fragrantica.
