Casual Work Clothing

Hello Everyone,

I would like to begin by saying that I truly appreciate all of the knowledge I have gained over the years from lurking in this forum. I have a fairly respectable suit and evening wardrobe thanks to you guys. My problem is with my work gear.

For almost a decade now I have been a young businessman in a traditionally older business and I have always dressed to look "older" but now that I am getting older I am at a bit of a crossroads.

My work duties call for me to wear comfortable clothing that is resilient but still somewhat professional.

I am by no means getting filthy, but I have found that I have to wear comfortable jeans; dress pants or lighter colored khakis just don't cut it.

I know this will make most here cringe but I kind of rock the "Jerry Seinfeld" look: blue jeans, running shoes and a polo shirt.

I am not trying to draw attention to myself but does anyone have any recommendations on what I could do to my standard 501Levis/RL Polo/Adidas Running shoes uniform, that would allow for me to look a bit younger or slightly more in style. One disclaimer: I need to tuck my shirt in so most jeans I own sit too low for my taste for work.

TIA

ironically, dressing more stylishly these days means dressing more like old fogeys. chinos and jeans with sturdier fabric, regular rises, and a traditional fit, canvas belts, buttoned sport shirts worn tucked in over a white tshirt, penny loafers, boat shoes, chukka boots, vest sweaters, cardigans, etc. i saw a guy in his 70s last week that was better dressed than most of the people in the waywt threads. as always, be careful with what colors you wear and how the clothes fit, and make alterations to suit your body. the jerry seinfeld look is not that bad: buttoned shirts several sizes too big, washed jeans that fit snug at the top but have a regular leg, and white sneakers. i rather like how george and kramer dress, though.
