Turnbull & Asser tuxedo 38-40R withdrawn

This was one of my first SF purchases, not quite my size and in retrospect I should have left it. However I bought it and had the sleeves lengthened. The working buttonholes should have been a problem but this was me 6 years ago, so the sleeves were let out, lining extended with black material on the inside, the most proximal buttonhole was reweaved and a new buttonhole made at the end of the column. I've taken a photo of the sleeve in bright light to show it as clearly as I can, but certainly in your usual black tie function lighting this would not be seen at all. The reweaving was excellent, the buttonhole was slightly longer than others but still pretty good and there is a hint of crease where the previous sleeve hem was.

With these issues declared, it is a beautiful tuxedo. Made in Italy. Great material, tons of handwork, just doesn't fit me quite right (I tried it on for a black tie function last night, my first opportunity to wear this instead of my usual PRL DB tux). It is tagged a 38R and and would be best for a 39R or very slim 40R I think. Check measurements and photos.

This would be a 700 usd ish item, but in view of the alterations which weren't cheap I'll offer it at 475usd here. There is a very nice T&A hanger that I can include if you are happy waiting for me to buy a bigger box.

13th June edit: Price reduced to 450usd plus a freebie shirt (see end of post)
[4] 14th June. Price cut to 425usd shipped
[5]15th June. Cut to 400usd shipped, pretty bargain basement (for a T&A tux) and I'm not sure that I want to let it go for any cheaper and rather keep it.
[6] 17th June. Definitely last cut 375usd.
[7] 18th Withdrawn from sale

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

PRL Douglas, classic fit, 15.5/32. It fits like a slim 15 3/4 but the sleeves are too short for me at 24". There is some staining on one sleeve gauntlet that is of course not seen when wearing the shirt. I wore it once but the sleeves are too short.

Nice T & A tuxedo there. If it was only a single button jacket it would be perfect in my opinion. Did you mistype the length? More probably you meant to say 30 3/4 inches no?

Great suit!

Tad too small on me, otherwise I would seriously consider buying it.

On a side note: Sartoria Partenopea made or makes stuff for T&A. As this item was made in Italy I bet, it is Partenopea. So really top notch stuff!!
