If you could do the same job regardless of location within the US, where would you select to live?

Keeping in mind:
Weather
Cost of Living
Convenience
Life
General Awesomeness.

My thoughts are Dallas and San Diego, any thoughts on these? What would be better?

Dallas is definitely more business friendly. Especially Plano, Tx area. Great to start in that city since Austin and Houston are relatively close. All 3 cities have some great industries and big names operating there.

I would start in Austin since I love the startup/tech vibe. In addition, college girls are hot.

I like Austin, it's just that there are too many weird people, and the city is too spread out

Since I'm not tied down in my young age, I would ideally spend January-May in a mountainous location and June-December in a major metro. That gives me spring ski season, mild mountain summer, hot beach-going summer, fall shopping/sports/cultural events, and a White Christmas.

Austin is pretty unbeatable in this department, but outside of high tech and government the demand for entry level jobs far outweighs the supply.

Baltimore looked lovely in "The Wire"

Pittsburgh seems like a nice place to start out
