jun hashimoto derbies after about 25 wears waxed reverse horse. As the wax finish wears off, reveals the reverse surface. You can use a brush to remove it faster, but it's fun to wear them naturally. They are a bit too shiny for me, so I'm wearing them hard

Nice nicelynice! Man can't wait to visit his shop again. I think the only thing I don't love on those derbies is the non-flat laces. But round almost work enough to overcome my dislike for non flat laces.

Was actually wondering how they were going to implement that change. Would have been funnier if they just had it going across in really tiny lettering

I've heard that this is how they used to make army boots; the soldiers would get them in reverse and then have to polish and polish and polish until they were shiny

I'm pretty sure Guidi uses YKK Excella. They recently started imprinting the Guidi label on the pull tab as well.

and yes- great quality IMO.
