the sole is kinda meh

Sole is a big part of the appeal for me, but I do love treaded soles.

Not a fan of julius shoes in general, unlike their outwear.

I agree; these ones are much sleeker than their usual suspects, hence me posting it here biggrin.gif

I think the chunkier sole here makes the boot look better than the previous versions w/o

How do you guys like the linen over leather boots?

The Augusta he's selling are pretty nice if I'm not being too crass in my assumption

I liked it so much I lost my bid on one, and some lucky guy bought them for $710.

Kinda I've seen others and those looked really nice but I never really thought about getting boots with a fabric over it, that's why I asked.

they are great in theory but i fear that in the long term if the fabric gets stained (as shoes normally do) it will be hard to get the stains out. Also once the fabric starts to tear away you may like the look or hate it, its a bit of a coin toss. I personally would pass and opt for a really good distressed a1923. If of course you are not worried about anything i said then the quality is there and the boot does look cool. ie
a1923

i like those better than the ma+ linen but here they are:

They look nice and give a "different" look, but if I had to choose between two of the same last, I'd probably go for the leather version. Unless I had enough boots already (not happening)

Linen over leathers are a big grail for some

Carpe ones are nice
