One thing to consider with guidi is that their footwear fits kind of loose on your foot, so it can seem more like a slipper (with a high shaft) than a boot.
they line their boots with the sweetest leather.
hurhur, you are missing the major company that used guidi leather and probably the company that paved the way for guidi to start making their own shoes and having such popularity in this niche market amongst other footwear designers. that company is carpe diem.
under $600 for a pair of new guidi boots is unheard of.

I never vibramed my augustas and they are infinitely more comfortable to walk in than any of my vibramed shoes...

yo dudes, selling these size 7 raf boots from the corner 40% off 40% off sale. They're awesome but I got mad black boots so passing these on for what I paid. Originally $875, now $525 asking $380 shipped. Otherwise sending them back but it'd be a shame at this price, they're awesome.

Well if you are ok with a slightly taller shaft, just get the buttero pair from barneys. Same plain, flattish, round-square toe, lace up, side zip. half the price of arknets. Or wait till a pair of carpe diem boots pop up in your size. Paul smith has a few pairs of boots like those butteros, but I don't think any of them have both laces and side zip. But those can generally be had for under $600. Check out yoox too though for ndc too.
Timberland boot company (which everyone hates here, w/e), has a collaboration with rag and bone--sold at barneys, for $325 that is pretty similar to those, but again, no side zip. I was thinking about getting them for a beater boot. http://www.barneys.com/Combat-Boot/501475479,default,pd.html?q=timberland admittedly, they aren't as sleek as the butteros.

not really, you just need to make sure the sole has been scuffed up first.
