I got my IS Gel Crack bots back from the cobbler today.

They look almost oxidized IRL, really gorgeous dark grey, really heavy and thick leather. Very happy.

I'm torn...got a pair of officine creative boots that I like and plan on keeping but not sure about sizing

11s fit, but are too long. got an insole that curbs most movement, but they still feel slightly big.

10s also fit, but were a struggle to get on, and are tight initially near the arches--wear in would be a bear. widest part of my foot also doesn't coincide with the widest part of the boot, which makes me think they're ultimately missized (widest part does on the 11s).

recs on sizing these?

^ I know the feeling. 11s and insoles sounds better if you can live with it. There's nothing worse than wearing small and uncomfortable shoes. How do you Officine Creatives otherwise? Mine are going strong.

Lace-up boots are much easier to get the fit right, especially for me because my right foot is slightly smaller than left. It doesn't bother me at all, I just don't even think anything but lace-up boots. :embar: I wear a 42 with insoles in Guidi donkey 991's and 41 with insoles in OC's calf ankle length lace-ups. They fit about the same length-wise.

I've been wearing the 11 on the L and the 10 on the R around the house for a while now and the 10 just doesn't feel right--foot feels too big for the boot. def thinking the 11 is a better option and just that my proportions doesn't perfectly coincide with the OC last

I think they're great. realize OC doesn't get much love around here, but tried one other pair as well and quality is nice. not sure I'd drop at retail, but tough to argue on sale sub-$400 really. aesthetic is a little diff than normal for me (reverse calf side zip in grey), so should be a cool test piece

Yeah, I don't know if the quality varies, or what, but in my experience OC's are a decent alternative. I liked the appearance and yoox price was quite reasonable 330 usd, so thought why not.

Yeah, I like the more bulbous toes of the older stuff
The hand-dye is a nice touch too

Here's my backzips in brown, hand-dye, riri zips:

I kind of regret getting 986 instead of 988, they seem to have much better ripples
