/\ $800 is the retail price in Japan, not Europe.

I totally forgot they are not a Japanese brand, actually, since I see them almost always on Japanese sites redface.gif

Wonder what the Euro price is for that particular pair.

Forward is no longer revolve, it's owned by Elyse Walker, who has a B+M store on sunset between pacific palisades and malibu, but they only display and sell the women stuff, no mens.

why not order from them online? they have free shipping/returns i believe

Also regarding 10Sei Otto, the quality is fine, but the design is lacking on the shoes (and even clothes to a certain extent). I tried on a pair of the boots and sneakers at HLo a few months back and I'm pretty sure one boot was bigger than the other, and it was really uncomfortable to wear... I'd say it's built better than Marsell but both are lacking in the comfort department. For what they charge Guidi is a much better investment, especially during sales. That said, A1923 and L-0 are still at the top of my list as far as comfort goes.

Revolve still owns Forward, Elyse Walker was just made the creative director iirc. Different websites but same company.

Ahh you're right. I didn't realize revolve was such a huge umbrella. So she essentially built a name at revolve and became a fashion director to curate higher end products under her name for them. They also have http://www.reverse-reverse.com which i'd never even seen before.

I think it is the other way around, she had a boutique that got plenty of celebrity clients and built up her name that way then Revolve hired her when they re-launched Forward.

And Reverse was Revolves answer to Gilt but I don't think they do the timed sales anymore. I think it is pretty much their clearance section now, at least it was last I check, haven't really visited it in a while.

looking at boots and prefer rubber soles for winter, but it seems most higher end boots come with leather soles. is vibram-ing the sole a viable option to achieve this objective or does it fuck with the boot's aesthetic? imagine it'd elongate wear as well. how much does this run?
Plenty gets their boots/shoes vibramed, most actually advice it. Just make sure you bring it to a capable cobbler.
Generally runs $30-60 for a pair of boots depending on where you go. Definitely a good investment and the cobbler should be able to keep the shape.

how does it look?
