i don't think it's that they're just horrible, but it seems like a lot of people tend to find the quality on them pretty poor for the price point. brands like buttero are generally regarded as having better quality in that price range.

I have a pair of OC reverse calf boots and they have been holding up really well. Their quality is quite inconsistent from what i have read/heard around the web. But the ones they did for Antonioli were well made. Mine being one. Those retailed for €600+ a few years ago. I know thats way off the usual retail you would see on a pair of OC footwear. Their usual pricepoint hovers around €300. From what i see, their higher priced ones have a much better construction as compared to their lower priced counterparts. Here it is after 3 years of consistent wear.

i just got a pair of guidi's that i like quite a bit and it's not at all a big deal, but the long laces throw me off. i'm going to just cut them to a normal length, but why would they even include such long laces to begin with? i get that people might to cut them to their preferred size, but even considering that these are still super long. just seems like a waste and a slight inconvenience for the buyer. i can't imagine anyone wanting laces this long. on boots i could see some people wanting to loop them around the shaft, but these are derbies.

wrap them

^ exactly

speaking of guidi derbies, this isn't a great price by any means, but i would pick these up if they were a 43. cream colored 992t in size 42. should be good for a 41. these are awesome for spring/summer.

wow now i feel dumb haha. i see it all the time. i guess i've just never had a pair to do it on before so it didn't occur to me. it wouldn't have been that tragic, but i'm glad i didn't go ahead and cut the laces.

I like the color on these CCP's, but are they reverse on one shoe and regular on the other?

that does indeed appear to be the case, but the colour is not something remarkable though.

the other boot will smooth out over time. reverse leather is the same leather we use on all shoes but not buffed to be smooth, basically under the rough texture is smooth leather

Looks like the panel is reverse leather on one and everything else is reverse leather on the other. Kind of cool actually.

Is 986 more close to the traditional lace up boots height? Creased up 988s look gorgeous but I'm not sure I like tall (ish) boots.
