thinking of picking up a tornado in ROOMS-PTC colour /19 as suggested by Tassos from Office, but been advised by forum members to get the LUC-PTC or SBUC-PTC instead

Thoughts ?

looks like they are sold out. and not sure if they qualify as "really solid construction".

i got sbuc-ptc and am happy with them. i'd recommend going with a black LUC-PTC or SBUC-PTC as a first buy because cordovan is more durable than kangaroo but Carol uses the thick part of kangaroo so you should be ok either way. In my eyes the cordovan and bison boots look best but you wont go wrong with any, just avoid the u-sole and pull over boots. pm me if you want

Apologies in advance for these questions. Probably been asked before but I can't find it.

- What are the main characteristics of Guidi horse leather, and in particular in white? How does it differ from their other leather options?

- How does the Guidi 995 boot fit? I've read it fits 1-2 full sizes big, depending on whether you use an insole or not. Correct?

Thanks

guidi run small, size up at least one, maybe 2.

I am also on the verge of gettin guidi 988 in blk. Seems like the full grain horse is the thickest/ toughest leather? What is the best place to order them pricewise? So far 1000$ shipped is the cheapest quote i had. Thanks in advance!

If you need a 44, pm me. Trying to decide if mine fit or not.

Just sent them an email. I think their price would be around 1000$ as well. Btw Is the horse the stiffest leather option as well? Thx

The 988S I have is in full horse grain. The leather is thick, but very supple. It has stretched out to the point I need a thin insole. I sized up 1.

There is a sizing help thread on SZ, I would suggest asking there.  They're very helpful and knowledgeable.

Those look amazing! I am 44ish with wide feet and usually use a superfeet insoles arch support. I am thinking about ordering 46 in the horse leather. Makes sense? Thx

/\ Getting a Superfeet insole in them will be tough; maybe after it stretches out.... I still cannot wear mine with that thick an insole.

Also, keep in mind that the backzip will rub against your foot until they have stretched out completely. In retrospect, I would have gotten the 698S over the 988S.
