Just a heads up that I have decided to sell my S49M Carpe Diems, the 7 holes. They are still BNWT. Size 40 (fits 39-40).

Edit: Listed; see my sig.

I'm in love with the boots from AW13 Alexandre Plokhov.

The shape reminds me a bit of Carpe Diem and the pattern is visually interesting without being tacky.

Question for nicelynice:

I noticed your most worn in boot you have posted about recently in the "Contentedness Thread" looks to be a pair of Guidi lace boot. 995, perhaps? I also remember how you said lace up shoes in general versus side zips was very cumbersome during your time working in Japan due to taking your shoe on and off. Since you are purging your closet, or so it seems, do you still prefer side zips [back zips] or you find the model 995 a much better all around boot albeit lacing. I'm looking at a pair of reverse horse in the 995 model, and it will be my second pair of the same model [have reverse kangaroo currently]. I like the shape of the 995 and do not mind lacing up my shoe FWIW. Also, the price difference is upward 170Euro from 995 to boots with zips, essentially. Ankle length zip is only a bit less. Zips worth the extra premium? What about cordovan worth the extra premium?

good question. I`d be interested to hear as well how much his pair have stretched since he has beaten those guidi lace-ups. this goes to say for other guidi owners with stiffer donkey leather boots who sized up 1 and were unbearably tight in the beginning.

Interested in hearing your thoughts as well sinned:D

toast... it's all a matter of preference. I don't think anyone other than you can decide what works best for you. I find pull on boots to be the most useful, but that doesn't mean I don't also own and love lace-ups. Whether zippers command a premium or not is up to you. For some it's purely aesthetic; for others, it's convenience. And for others still, it's just what appeals to them. Do I think that $200 for a zipper is "worth" it? I wouldn't look at it like that, personally. I would look at it from the angle of "do I like it?" And if I do, do I like it enough to pay the premium?

the only thing I don't like about guidi laceups is how delicate the laces are, besides that, it should just be personal preference.
