Lined with cordovan leather? That would be about the worst idea ever. Cordovan hardly breathes at all, it would be horrid to wear.
Sole made out of cordovan? No shoemaker would use cordovan for soling leather. It would be such a waste of expensive leather.

Horse is a better choice than cordovan for a zip boot anyway.

awesome after 3 pages of discussion we agree these arent cordovan which is what i told you right away

nevertheless, guidi uses full grain horse (assuming they are horse) and that is pretty sturdy.

tbh I prefer the shorter shaft ones.

How do you want to wear them? I don't think either will go well with jeans, for example, as the shape is too bulbous for that type of look. I think if you're looking for an everyday pair from Guidi you'd be better off with a combat boot.

/\ It's not bulbous IRL. It actually goes well with jeans untucked; that's how I wear mine mostly....

9XX does not indicate a taller shaft; it's for reg back zip models, 6XX are side zips. The third digit is shaft height.

for example: 699 is the tall side zip and 986 is the ankle back zip.

hendrix, I know you are well-intentioned, but you are making this whole cordovan discussion more confusing.

Designers have not started referring to horse leather as cordovan. It's not retailers making mistakes, it's designers using the term and retailers following suit.

So, everyone should now simply accept that shell cordovan is the only term used that refers to true cordovan. All other cordovan is simply horse leather. This is really not that confusing. cordovan (now) = horse.

Similarly, guidi often uses the term "baby calf," and although tautological and annoying, it's not some new type of leather made from embryos, it's just calf leather.
