I may just succumb to beautiful things... oh god talk me out of this because I don't need them (that badly)

he did say half the price...

people should never deny themselves of beautiful things. especially when it comes to women, booze, and footwear.

WJK boots are an exact copy. They are not a rip-off as Hashimoto used to work for C. Diem and was licensed to make them.
Same thing with the Jun Hashimoto line. Their shoes and boots look the same. Even the model numbers didn't change!

carpe diem and wjk are different. Is wjk licensed to recreate carpe diem? yes. Does he use a carpe diem last? yes. Aret hey exactly the same? no. You can tell the difference just by looking at them.

@magic1: Besides the laces, what differences do you see in shape/style?
style is the same but the heel cup and instep are different and wjk lacks the sleekness of carpe diem. Admittedly, the differences are subtle and I am sure the construction and leather on wjk are great. I would be a happy to own a pair, but I think the differences between the two are rather apparent.

Yeah I think wjk/jun hashimoto are great offerings at great prices, but there's a difference to my eye. magic1 captured the differences well.

If you can't tell though more power to you smile.gif I've met Hashimoto-san at his Daikanyama boutique and it's funny since he's not a tiny/rail thin Japanese male so I doubt he could fit into wjk's largest sizes. A problem a little part of me cries about daily.

But perhaps that's why he generally offers size 4/5 for his own line.

wjk has a shorter toebox and therefore looks a bit less sleek. still, good boots, good boots...

WJK is size S, M, L and junhashimoto is size 3, 4, 5. The sizing is about the same for both brands IIRC.
