anyone know which insoles go best into augusta?
Tacco for something thin

Superfeet for the best support (but may be really tight for low instep boots).

Hey guys,

A couple of questions from someone with almost no experience with the types of boots discussed here.

I have roughly an $800 budget to spend on a pair of boots.  I really like the Guidi 995 like the pair here.  I don't know that those will fit me though as I typically wear an 11 or if we are talking Alden Barrie last 10.5.  I think I'll try and make it down to H. Lorenzo soon to try some Guidi boots on just to make sure.

Do all Guidi fit relatively the same?  Do they have different lasts that fit differently (a la Alden)?

I'm not limiting myself to Guidi but their aesthetic seems to resonate with me the most.  I'm not really into boots with the crazy upturned toes.

Can anyone recommend boots of similar style to the 995?

Is there a "one stop shop" to check out the different styles/brands that are out now?

How is the quality of Shoto boots?  i.e. these

My apologies if this is too many questions.  Feel free to tell me to fuck off and use the search function if need be. peepwall[1].gif

Thanks for any help.  icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Guidi is WAY more narrow than Barrie last. In my experience all Guidi is sized the some.....narrow. Definitely suggest you try them on.

Only on Styleforum would there be a lengthy discussion about Guidi vs. Alden sizing... shog[1].gif

guidi 995 check http://www.pnp-firenze.com/ for best pricing IMO

an 11 in guidi is a 46 and even that is tight, and most typical models such as 995 and 988 fit similar

i had a bad experience with shoto so i think they are sh*t

a good place to go to since you are in LA is sartorialoft or h lorenzo, there may be others but i don't live in LA.

Notable brands: Augusta, Layer-0, MA+, CCP, honorable mentions: Julius, WJK,
(guidi you clearly know)

the upturned toes tend to mostly straighten out when you wear them. give them a shot. are you looking for online retailers? you didn't specificy but antonioli is useful.
if you are like, super conservative, then carpe diem or MA+ would be a good choice.

considering some white/light gray derbies for summer, I just love guidi that much. What do people think bout the condition for the price, hate that he cut the laces, ;/
