what don't you like about ccp footwear? the pointier last?

anyone recognize these shoes?

 

I don't care for the pointy last either -- but I have only internet pics to go on. The last might look fine in person.

It looks fine in person. I have a pretty high sensitivity to the "asshole with pointy shoes" factor, and I used to wear a pair of bison tornadoes daily without feeling self-conscious about it.

My main issue with CCP footwear is construction quality rather than aesthetics.

Whats the construction quality like on CCP compared to say Guidis or A diciannoveventitre ?

My friend told me the tornados are hand made, is this true ? and to what extent ?

Also, IDK why everyone talks about CCP construction all the time. I had a pair of derbies, they were great. To me it seems a TON of people are 1. ONLY going on hearsay and 2. Just saying it's bad construction because CCP stuff is uncomfortable for a while to break in.

(BTW Modal, I wasn't calling you out at all, your comment just reminded me of all the talk about CCP construction and then when those same people are questioned they've never even owned a pair of CCP footwear)

^ I'm pretty fond of the current generation of A diciannoveventitre lace-ups, aside from the actual laces (bleh, metal tips). I was in San Fran's Archive a while back and they impressed me more than anything else there.

No, it's fine. It was just a casual comment.

I can only speak anecdotally and anything CCP on SZ bores me (my pair was inherited secondhand), so I have no idea what the current bandwagon is regarding him. In my case I had zipper issues within two months and almost tore out the heel within I think four. Which can absolutely be abnormal, especially as I'm pretty hard on footwear, but I wear CDiem or In Aisce normally and the tornadoes felt below par. Not Rick levels of below par, but below par.

Leather or footwear obsessives aren't the ones buying CCP anyway, so it's a moot point.

I don't like the last, I have a pair of CCP derbies I never wear because they look like elf shoes. The scarred leather is great, though
They're not good with anything but skinny pants, either, so it limits when I can wear them. Doesn't help that they're uncomfortable and the construction is terrible - the back of the shoe and laces were falling apart within a week of wearing them

I wear my Jun hashimoto (carpe style) derbies all the time

If anyone wants to spend $1000 on elf shoes that are falling apart, let me know!!

and it's funny they use the exact same names as Carpe. If I'm not mistaken those are the S23 and S21 model.
