The augustas actually fit me perfectly, and I wore then a few times, but I wanted a pair of boots so I traded them to zam, who sold them to another sz member, who will probably sell them back to zam (he absolutely loved them--they're featured in his recent collection, btw). Through the trades I was able to get a pair of carpe diems from eckblk, so it all worked out. those augustas are one of the best derbies I've every seen though....I'm glad the guidi's are working out for you. I loved them. Given my nonexistent college income, I have a very small wardrobe and given the guidis aesthetic, I only felt appropriate wearing them like once a week, max--and yet I couldn't afford to wear them that little. where as the carpe diems I wear about 3 times a week. I wouldn't mind picking up that same pair of guidis or augustas in a few years though as they were amazing. Too bad they (the guidi) no longer use cordovan though...
My plan is to pick up a pair of ccp boots, ccp derbies (or augustas), pair of ann d boots, ann d sneakers, and a couple pairs of john lobbs and I'll be set in terms of awesome footwear.

@magic: I love the shape of augustas and ccp derbies, but realized I can never pull off. great that you worked something out with the augustas!

@sinnedk: here are some pics. don't know if they are what you are looking for since they are vibrammed already. hope it helps.

the boot itself, pardon the laundry, I tried to get good sunlight for the photos.

the stitching is hidden. and it looks like it is a single leather sole at the back and mid of the shoe, which extends to a double leather sole in front.
you can see the 2 layers in the pics below.

Eck what leather should I go for? James saying calf not offered since I was gonna do reverse 312 so thinking of just doing rev bison 312 is it suedey as ****?

Also I hear it's softer than calf is this true? So it goes stag>bison>calf>horse in terms of softness but I thought bison would be stiffer no?

Guidis from Farfetch sale came today, man you guys were not kdding when you said size up. I usually take a us8 in boots and the 43 is very tight, but I think they will stretch to the perfect size we will see. In the mean time, someone please talk me out of picking up the Augusta side zips on the Barneys sale (or buy them yourself
