Guidi footwear so uncomfortable. Try before you buy.

@sinnedk The forum community is not the open market.  It's a community, and ostensibly, we are all colleagues and even friends, here to benefit one another and not to take advantage of one another.  The reason that people are mad is that you are selling boots at a higher price that anyone else could have picked up off of Yoox for considerably lower, except that you apparently have faster fingers.  It makes people reluctant to post sales and other things that could benefit everyone.  This is detrimental to the community spirit.

No, members of a forum cannot control what you do, but by that same token, you can't expect people to support or even condone your behavior.  And, at least on the forum, I can decide what constitutes a use or misuse of forum resources.

Sure, I've PMed with you.  But that doesn't mean that I am going to be on your side about everything.  Even though we changed the rule, it's still shady behavior.  I put it in the same category as scalping.

Probably will end up getting them from Mr. Porter - the prices are a bit higher, but at least I can return them if they are really terrible.

I am quite tired of the back and forth on this subject.

What i do suggest is for you to make a call on this and disallow it. Had i know this was against sf rules i would not have done it. And, i am sure plenty of people are doing it and will be doing it.

In fact given this situation I pm the original member that posted the sale and offered him the boots. He is a 45 and did not order because he thought a 44 is too small.

I recommend against guidi because they look like meat socks a lot of the times. But, give em a try you may feel different about them.

Indeed they were so were the pics. But wonder if he is selling them due to the same heel discomfort you had.

I have a pair of 698 side zips in black reverse horse on order with Holger that should be done in a month. I'm hoping for the best.

I am not going to disallow it for precisely that reason.  It would be an impossible rule to enforce, and the first rule to good rulemaking is to not make any rules that can't be enforced.

That doesn't mean that I, and others, can't dislike the practice.  Just because it's not technically against the rules just means that you won't be banned or timed out for it.

I'll probably give the Guidis a try.  It's another of those brands that I've handled plenty, but never tried on, because I never saw anything I'd want to wear.  From now on, I'm going to try on everything, just in case, in the future, I decide that I want a pair of brand X after all.

Read you loud and clear on this.

What are you exactly looking for in regards to shoes/boots?

I personally always really liked these guidi: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

probably the only one's i'd consider at this point.

I like those, but I'm really looking for something more of an ankle boot at this point for two reasons.  One is that I don't wear pants that are tight or light enough to tuck, and the second is that I travel a fair bit, and ankle boots make a lot more sense for air travel.  They take up a lot less room in your luggage, and if you decide eto wear them during a travel day, they are easy to take on and off through security, and are comfortable on a long plane ride.  I don't even wear high tops on a flight unless they are comfortably oversized, so that I can just loosen the laces and let my feet sit lazily in them in flight.

My 995 are the most comfortable shoes I own. Just spent two days walking around the Mojave with them on, no insole and they were perfect.
