I think that this is 10 sei's nicest design so far, but I still have problems with it. The combination of the triangle seam at the front and the leather part around the heel feels unwieldy. And I hate that white stitching; just put the damn zipper there!

The construction on those looks like it's improved a lot since the ones I bought (and returned) last year with the warped sole. They've also ditched the scuff-distressing look. In general I think 10 Sei 0 Otto is in a great price point for the value they offer. Hopefully their quality continues to go up but they keep their prices manageable.

I will say the pair I tried on was not the most comfortable pair of boots though.. the leather was super stiff and since they were unlined (except for the toe-box area) they had a lot of friction on the inside which I think could cause some blisters.

Plokhov boots are really nice and fit is great.

Someone asked about lining... it's perforated calf. I was worried it would be some textile too.

Fuck the sartorialist, but in a different-baller way, Aldens tree'd + polished vs. not:

Shell has very cool attributes

So much better that way

I stopped putting trees in my shell Alden boots.

And started wearing them how boots should be worn.

I like them so much more now.

While beat up shell can look nice, whenever I clean (with a damp cloth) and brush my Vass shell derbies for a minute they look much better. Shell is very durable, but neglecting it isn't really what highlights its best qualities.

Might pull the trigger on some 988z's, size 45 soon. Just wondering about size, from what I've read in this thread sizing up 1-2 is the norm for the laceless guidis. I don't plan on wearing insoles, my foot is just shy of 11 inches, but my measurements are probably off. I wear 10 in red wings, 43 in common projects and 10.5 to 11 in nikes. You think 45s would be a safe bet? Thanks for any help.

45 sounds safe, 45.5 safer. rule of thumb or toe in this case, bigger is always better because you cannot cut off toes smile.gif

Thanks, I think I might die before I find any 45.5s for sale though. I'll keep an eye out though. 45 is about 1.5 up from my "normal" size so I figured it would be good.
