What model you comparing in particular? My guess is most the really popular models use the same last. The thicker soled models use the same last plus 1 additional layer of leather added to the heel and sole. Not 100% sure. My Guidi size is the same across the board for all current models.

I am thinking mainly of the 995 and the 16. Basically when I tried the 995 on they only had a 46 which seemed to fit but they also had a 45 in the 16 which fit maybe a bit better than the 995 so I'm wondering if the 995 in a 45 may work for me.

I'm starting to think I need a 44 in Guidi (988 model)

I'm typically a 41.5/42/UK 7.5 or 8.5/9 (9.5 in Nikes)

Saw a pair of Guidi 988 in horse size 43 with an outsole of only 28.5 and 10cm width

That is some pretty narrow and short fitting boot.

^^
are you sure the seller doesn't mean 29.5cm- I've had 42's in Guidi (988) that measure 29.3 cm

Another thing you guys need to take into consideration is your instep on footwear. Guidi not only is super tight on my width but the instep really doesn't work well either on me.

^ and yeah I agree with Eck, that sounds extremely unlikely for a 43.

^Idk homie, I wear a 9 in Frees and 43's in the 995 were ok for me length wise but uncomfortable in width and too small in instep.......why do you were in Frees again?

So I've been reading this thread more often recently but I'm still pretty ignorant. Could someone tell me whether or not these Guidi are a good buy for $550?

those are a few years old, guidi doesn't release side zips often and 550 is a decent price, however i've seen those particular guidi get sold 2x, i think there is a zipper issue with them, other than that they are fine. retail is almost 1k for something like that, or would of been back then...

Toast- it's really something you just have to try on. It really, really is so hard to nail down footwear sizing if you have a high instep like me. What some other things that fit 'perfect' for someone won't be for you if they're flat footed and you have a high arch.

Thanks. Smallest size I can probably fit my foot into considering the label is a 41. But probably best if it was 41.5, equivalent of a 8.5.

My current Free's (version 1) are 9.5 and are super comfy with a Superfeet insole (sockless included). Usually I wear these really thick cotton socks in black from Costco. FWIW smallest footwear depending on make is a size 41 or 8.5. I ordered those F+B Elf side zips recently in 41, which I am now thinking of returning, and will probably look into both the 988 and 995 for the next month 'to kop' list ^^
I want to wear them comfortably like Nicelynice with his suits to the office ......

is that jet's SZ sale page? coincidentally they are both selling the same trickers in different sizes...

Was just trying to point out the length of the sole measurement being '28.5' on a size.43 Guidi 988. Could be a mistake though

FWIW, I am between a 8.5 and 9.5 depending on shoe and I have little to no arch. Flat footed FTW? :(
