Just waiting for kunk to chime in about how CCP quality is crap because of a broken zipper on his tornados and I think one other piece of CCP he owned. ;p
My 2cents is quality does seem about the same. Both brands have stand outs, but both have issues. nicelynice's issues with his CCP derbies have made me hesitant to pick up a pair.
Augusta is solid, but not perfect either. I'd love a pair of the classic oiled horse trainer (black/white sole with blue green laces) or the blacked out pair, but it sounds like the laces break apart pretty easily and the eyelets come out.
I think people fetishize these elitist brands and would love to believe that for what they pay these things are perfect in every sense: design, materials, construction etc. etc. But things have defects, artisanal techniques oft-times don't have durability/longevity as goals. Know that even if you spent 100k for a pair of boots they may fall apart after a couple wears. Construction flaws or an overcomplicated production/treatment process that's more beautiful concept than practical.
I have pieces from all these brands that have broken zippers or other minor issues from CCP down to Julius down to random workwear-ish brands. **** happens and if you are buying retail then usually the retailer/brand will work with you (Though some brands cough CCP take forever). If you are buying second hand then well what do you expect? ;p
Anyway, I think my point is no matter how much you pay, **** may happen and if that's something you can't handle then aim a little lower price wise and buy 2-5x of everything you like.

What is going on with the clip on your scarstitich?

The laces on the sneakers are a common problem from what I hear. I want the blacked out ones too :inlove:

ok dude, i did a lot of research thats how i learned.
do you really want to start this? you know im gonna put you in your place amateur! wanna be a little pathetic internet troll, bring it

Honestly, I find you somewhat annoying and pretty hyper-defensive as if you have a chip on your shoulder. I've read a lot of your posts on here and SZ and I don't feel you really, really know what you are talking about and that trend doesnt seem to be changing. At least not in the sense that I feel eckblk knows his ****.

I guess you can go ahead and put all of your detractors in our places. I'm no fan of nahneun (After his crazy korean/asian chick comment where he subsequently made it clear that yeah he's an asshole and he could give 2 ***** what anyone else thinks) either so it's not like im backing his ass up.

At some point though you will turn into a Mr. Moo but maybe even more rabid and my brain will train itself to auto filter out your posts. Carry on as you will!

Yeah I don't mind the laces so much. I can replace those with non augusta ones that will do.. it's the eyelets that's more bothersome. I feel like even if I get someone legit to put them back in they are just going to pop out repeatedly.....

CCP did mail me replacement hooks. I think 3 or 4 to fix the 1 so they did right by me. It only took 3 months or so and not the year+ I've heard it takes some!

Abraxis - how did you get the hooks onto the leather buddy? I'm curious as I'm always scared that my leather will face an eventual fate. :) good to know that CCP did that for you. I remember the feeling for ya.
