Guidi hiking boots look disturbingly plausible as actual boots for hiking in. Like, the padding around the ankle looks more comfortable than some viberg hiking boots.

Thanks. I have not worn them out yet, but they were incredibly comfortable and seemingly well made when I tried them on at If.

They're unfortunately too heavy for actual hiking. They weigh like four times as much as my Merrells. I'm sure they're fine for like, walking around outdoors, they're durable as hell, just not for actual hiking

Words have no meaning—how are those "derbies"?

Welcome to the artisanal world, where anything that is not a boot or a sneaker is a derby. :)

Yep those are definitely not derbies.

What would you call them instead?
Wholecut balmorals/oxfords?
Wholecuts. Or just shoes, but they are not derbies.

That is hilarious. Now to look through their entire site for other funny file names.

Stupid to expose that since they don't carry ccp anymore and do carry a1923.

latest A1923 arrivals to hide [m]- red derby came out nice, color-wise

Petrosolaum oiled horse (culatta? they just have "horse butt" written on them, but they're not shell) shoes. I usually prefer the hand-sewn Petrosolaum models, but got blake-stitched for a cleaner look. Curious how these will age, I was told they will lighten to gray as the oil comes off, then I can re-oil them to a dark black.

The toe shape is a nice change from the bulbous toe of all my other shoes

The front is clean, but the sides have slight scarring. Cool leather selection.
