Finally got a chance to wear my new 992s out yesterday. My first foray with donkey leather and I have to say I'm very happy with them. Holger had/has these in horse but I wanted something a bit lighter for the warmer weather.

I got these from Calculus, which is Graham from Re-porter's new retail store in Victoria, Canada. He's a great guy and provides incredible customer service. His selection of designers is refreshingly slim but speaks to the time, care and personal connection he has towards what he stocks.

Check him out here.

those look great, i need some derbies smile.gif

lol, everybody has us all wrong...

we're not nice, we're just under-socialized and passive aggressive [low population density will do this].

being ostensibly nice just makes it easier to make it back to our hobbit-holes unscathed by various social discomforts! tounge.gif

[or, you know, maybe we are just nice and can't take a compliment]

100%. Canadians aren't nice, we're polite. There's a difference.

But yeah, we definitely cannot.

I agree w @sinnedk both are amazing. I have the 1st pic more rounded version of the last. They fit like a dream. They're both sturdy and supple right out of the box. My only complaint is that similar to MA+, the stitched in padded insole only goes halfway towards the toe and tends to roll backwards, curling up when you take then off. Should I try I to get this tacked down? I assume this is a known issue? Older l-0 I've tried had a whole sloppy curled flap of insole leather happening in there that even causes blisters in the arch.!

Any suggestions? I use shoe horns for getting them on in the AM.

Thanks guys

My green 995 are donkey and I've been very impressed with the sturdy yet pliable nature of the hide. Thanks for the new Calculus info too. This is in addition to his prior shop? I shall have to investigate. I've gotten some real gems from Re-Porter over the years including shearling L-0 winter boots and a very special long hair shearling parka from InAisce. Graham is always very responsive and can usually provide amazing fit details based off his model's builds.
