step lively, now.

 Nothing fancy like that at all. It was a regular .22LR, not hollow tip or extra grain or anything. I do imagine the nearly 18 mm of stacked horse sole + vibram would have served as decent enough armor to at least reduce injury.

Was right in front of an ice cream shack. Gotta guard that soft serve, son!

Hmmm, I wonder whether we might be doing each other a real disservice in not providing at least some minimal ballistic testing on all of our new boot and shoe purchases. It might actually be relevant (nay, even life-saving) to know which leather, from which maker, best withstands a direct hit from a 9 mm round at some standard, generally agreed-upon distance (accidental discharges could also be measured and catalogued). Standards could be determined by majority response.

Something to think about.

Ballistic gel dummy is the only body form that looks good in those straight jackets anyway

Not to change the subject but . . .

Anybody have thoughts on these?

I think they look boss but I can't really imagine what to wear with them for pants.

Those L 0 would look fine w super skinny ankle jeans but maybe not w a stack. They might look diff opened up and not fully laced tho

I like the leather but I don't like the cut.  Its weird in a not good way.  Don't like how it rounds under the front and looks bulbous.

While those sneakers may not be for everyone, the toe box is not bulbous IRL. Here is a pic from almost a year ago (here):

Nice! Thanks, @Uzairh. So tempting but I just don't know if I'd get enough use out of them. And wondering how the flat sole is for extended use? Would prob have to get fully Vibramed.

While we're on a Layer-0 kick(s) here's a quick pic of mine today while wearing some Karu denim pants courtesy of @Wormwood. I'll put up a more extensive review on them on the clothing thread but suffice to say they are very nice and comfy.

No issues with the sole for me.

Good to know. Did you Vibram?

Not needed to yet.
