@AlexanderTG do you send all your stuff to Willie's? How much does it cost including shipping?
He's done both of my m_morias and completely reworked a pair of Carpe back zips.

For the morias (never bring up "Vibram" it's "adding sole protectors" . . . long story) it costs about $125 including shipping back.

Sounds like someone took "Vibram" as code for "resole with Vibram"

Is there any noticeable difference between $125 topys and the $20 topy you can get at the local store though?

They just glue it on to the bottom

The breakdown: Ankle Boots Moira Rubber heels $38.00 #5 Sole Protector $45.00 Nail Soles and heels Original $20.00 103.00

Plus $22 for shipping=$125 total

Not bringing your $3k boots to the "local store" to have the meticulous work of The Master fu&ked with irreparably: priceless.

I dunno, just makes it all part of the process. Peace of mind can't be quantified.

Fair enough

It's just that $125 is sort of getting close to what I imagine it what cost to get altieri to completely resolve them (which Eckblk has suggested he will do)

Has anyone found out the price?

And then you get to keep the beautiful original sole plus all the other benefits (breathability etc)

@Lohikaarme I'm not sure about resoling but probably going to get them topied for now by Willie's or the Firm. The shoebox says m_moriabc so I'm going by that for now unless someone has better information.

@AlexanderTG How long did it take for Willie's to add sole protectors and ship them back?

Couple weeks start to finish. Communication is slow sometimes but they always come through.

I'm thinking of going to a cobbler and adding a topy on a pair of new Guidis and was wondering if just glueing it on to the sole for $20 will be bad/damage it in any way or if I should just ship it out to someone for a more professional job? I'm kind of against shipping it out being in Canada as customs and such will make it really hard to go in and back out. If they level the shoe do they sand down the sole and ruin the original sole?

Is there any point to nailing the rubber heels and soles? Or is it just for looks? I've never had either come off.

it's not going to damage the sole, it's an easy, simple job that I doubt they'll screw up. $20 is a fair price, it should be fine.

Just for looks. Originally it was thought they did that in lieu of glue but was recently revealed to me that it is merely cosmetic. I still dig it.

Quoting this because it seems most accurate, and is really cool.
