I forget but do you own any tornadoes or any CCP footwear?

Have a couple on order. I was at CCP's Milan workshop last month where I picked the leathers and models. Pictures when they arrive....

Oh damn, what did you order!

Agreed! I'm an amateur having come to these brands very recently.

The only thing you can rule out are the side zips because no reason you wouldn't get the tornado instead

Makes sense.

If you decide to get the tornados the first choice to make is black vs non-black (or at least non-10, 12 or 19)

If the former your safest choice is bison (so comfortable but grainy) or LUC (which is reliable standard shiny and thick baller material).
CUBS/CUL might turn out spectacular or might turn out butt ugly it's a gamble.

If the latter (light colour) you can't get CUL/LUC anyway, and SBUC is awful, so your best choice is CUBS or possibly bison (I've got an awesome pair in white)

I like the standard 2601 tornado over the broad toed one. It's a beautiful shape . But it's s a bit more dressy elegant looking though so if you're going for the homeless peasant look with lots of frayed stacks then get the 2521SX (or whatever it is)
But you already have the guidi/a1923 for that

Good points. I suppose I'm somewhere between homeless and elegant. Working from home, I don't wear suits or ties. Great info, thanks.

Never owned kangaroo nor drips nor workboots so can't comment on that. None of them suit my wardrobe but they are pretty cool/iconic

I will certainly own them at some point.

Actually yours look great, but all I have seen in real life are dull flat and lifeless

Like this

Also those side zips at shelter

I used to own these

Maybe yours is from a different source? Or you Polish/condition them well
Post some more photos of nice SBUC wink.gif

CUBS can look great though

So is it too much folding on the derbies? I have no experience with derbies. I am trying to understand what you didn't like. Cul/Cors/CUbs can all be a shit show depending on what one likes, kinda like a1923 culatta.

My sbuc have been holding up steady since 2012, no complaints. I have LUC on order right now.

here is the bius i had to give up, just didn't fit me

Thanks for posting the photos! Wow, both are awesome. Must digest these...

I've also seen some awesome red ones on IG. Very scarred, really nice.

Gee those CORS look great, you just threw a spanner in the mix

Yeah your SBUC just has a totally different texture to the ones (derby and tornado)I have handled. They were very drab and dry and flat

Yours look great

thats correct, when i received my boots they were super dry and matte, i guess the tanning process or dye drying did that. i always cleaned them a little with damp cloth and brushing. About 1/2 year ago i decided to take saphir to them and condition them, that pic was the result. I recommend against saphir on tornados in the future, instead just use oil (otter wax oil is great, @psydle knows all the conditioning stuff).

Cors were super nice, matteo gave me an opportunity to get on them since i asked 1/2 year before they came but after i got the pics i didn't like the leather thickness. As you know i prefer the thicker leathers so i passed.

That would be aweosme and appreciated. I'm a EU45 or I guess CCP 10?

Why do you recommend against Saphir?
Yours looked great after using it

Saphir has a little wax in it and leaves a little dusting effect in the folds when you wear. My guess is the folds crack the saphir or something. I use otter wax oil now.

I don't really post anymore, but I have to ask: who are you to be visiting Altieri and Carol while on a seemingly regular holiday? You can't just casually drop this into the thread.

it's a (un)surprisingly small world; this "avant-garde" fashion world... Once you're in it, it's not difficult to get in touch with certain "idols"...

I don't doubt it. I'm just lazy.
