The Official Artisanal "streetwear" footwear (boots, shoes, sandals) thread (Guidi, CCP, Augusta, M.A.+, M Moria, Carpe Diem, etc..) - Page 1329

Hmm, I like my Layer-0, but not super blown away by them either. I'd prefer a Goodyear welt rather than a Blake stitch, feel like it'd match the aesthetic better. They lack the handcrafted quality of A1923, not as clean as ma+ or mmoria, the shape of Carpe s52 is a little better for me, and generally prefer Guidi calf to Layer-0 horse. Great for wearing to work and pretty comfy, but for anything over $1000 I want something exciting!! The colored shell options look interesting

I can't say I've treated these kindly at all, but they don't really seem to care. Looking better than they did when I got them from Vitamori, I think.

If anyone can find these in 41-42 let me know, missed out on some earlier this year.

Anyone else ever have a pair that they wore quite a bit for a while, then put away and kind of "forgot about?" Then when you find them again, it almost feels like you just got a new pair! That just happened to me with these:

Last time I wore them, I was helping a friend bust up his concrete walkway so he could replace it with stone. My 6 yo son was helping (with his little 3 lb sledge), and at one point he stopped lugging chunks of concrete long enough to say, "Daddy, this is really hard. And fun!" Nailed it.

Anyway, delighted to "find" them again! Don't think I'd be doing that kind of work in a pair of Layer-0's. I agree, @nicelynice, that L0 is not up there at the same level as the others you mentioned, but I like them for certain situations, moods, etc. They'd seem weird to me with a Goodyear welt, but that might just be because I'm used to them with the Blake. Thank god we don't have to choose just one!

These Carpe's from eBay arrived, and they're awesome. Big thanks @twdawson!

43 fits like a US9.5 IMO.. and yeah that instep sure is snug! But they're still quite comfortable (no room for an insole though).

And man that leather is awesome.. reverse (very smooth on the inside), unlined, nice mottled grey color. They have such a slim silhouette I found they worked best with a pretty slim jean (currently pulling some old Dior's out of retirement). Definitely a keeper..

Thank you. They are a seriously great pant. Phenomenal fabric. Nowhere near as heavy as the military bread breads.

Nice. Didn't like the color from the stock pics posted by holger, but they look great paired with your ST3s.
