IMO, this applies to high-achievers in fields other than sales, too. Good article, AF, though I wouldn't necessarily have included "Best Practices" in the thread title.

this also really shows how hard it is to manage sales people. the best sales people are a huge pain in the ass. you have 5 or 10 of those working for you, it is a crazy amount of stress and work

Agree. I'm a little too nice right now in the "doing stuff that is not my deal," (i.e. helping out new hires and other sales people with their issues and training) but I won't put up with reps putting their shit tasks, namely admin related, on my plate.


Needless to say, I think my manager probably feels I'm annoying little shit who always comes up with the hardest and most complicated customer demands of any rep.
