1) Jon Stark is not dead. He is the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen or possibly Robert Baratheon.

2) Coldhands was Benjin.

3) The Hound is still alive. He was the big guy working on some religious island in a previous book. I'm wondering if he's the new Kingsguard.

4) Jon ends up marrying Danerys.

5) Bran saves everyone from the White Walkers

Doubt he's really dead although my guess is he lives on in some sort of combined form with Ghost. He's definitely someone special's child.

probably although I wonder if he would have been recognized even in his current form by the kid who has met him at least once.

I was thinking the new kingsguard was Gregor brought back as some sort of monster as a result of those experiments with prisoners Qyburn was doing.

I think is correct on points 2 and 3. I'm not sure about 1 yet (but obviously he's not totally, for real dead). Doesn't someone say that Coldhands is really old or something like that at one point?

The hound is IMO done with the Lannisters. Gregor seems far more likely, since the new guard is described as enormous, IIRC. Of course his corpse was also available to the new maester (forgot his name).

I think that's spot on. This was actually a point that I thought was pretty obvious. Some of the Jon Snow stuff is definitely up in the air, but I thought this was rather straightforward. I can't wait to see him fight icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif Hopefully book 6 (The Winds of Winter) is better than A Dance with Dragons because I thought it was pretty shit. AFFC > ADWD, I don't care what anyone else says.

The White Walkers. IMO, for Bran to become king of them, they have to actually be good guys that are defending against something else. Otherwise, this would make the Old Gods and the Heart Trees evil and I'm not sure GRRM would go for that big of a decption. I mean, centuries of worshipping at your enemies' alter?

Why I don't think it's the Mountain is was his skull not sent to Dorn? Or was it a not his then? On second thought I agree the Hound might well be done with the Lannisters. He was certainly not happy with Joffery.

Question: opinions on the reanimated Lady Stark thread.

I agree with CDFS about the New Kingsguard being a more mountainy-mountain. He's also been reincarnated larger, but I imagine that they could have found either a) a new skull for him or b) a fake skull to send to Dorne. Remember, Cersei's armourers said that there was no point in making armour that large, as noone is that big - the Hound is large but he's not uniquely huge. The Mountain is.

I have just seen the "Bran king of the others" thread referenced elsewhere and I'm really not sure how to take it. I agree that the problem is that the Starks have been more or less the main group fighting against the Others for thousands of years, so its weird that the heart trees and the wargs and the children etc are evil. Maybe this is a "balance versus not" theme, not a "good versus evil"? As it is, Melisandre complicates the notion of "Fire = good, Ice = bad"

Even if they sent the right skull, I think it is pretty clear that Qyburn has at the very least Frankenstein'd his body as a result of all of the human experiments that got him kicked out of being a Maester.

I would imagine if Melisandre brings jon back, it would be more like Beric and less like Zombie-Cat. Beric was pretty normal in red-god-ressurection mode while Cat is a mix of not being able to speak due to her head being cut off and being very angry and bitter at everyone. Jon just got knifed up and would probably act a little more rational.

I think that Coldhands is mentioned as being old, but maybe the essence of the being is old but it takes on new human form, in this case Benjen.
No way JS is dead. Zero. HE might be brought back ala Beric/Caitlin or he might be brought back as the Lord of Light in some other way. Also, warg.
He marrying Danery would make sense but I think it would just be too neat.

Rickson is the wildcard here, he is doing something very important, maybe on that weird island. Maybe he Marries Danery?

Honestly, I think Bran is going to mind meld with the Old Gods in someway and through him the humans (led by the Starks) will come to some balance. Rickson will lead House Stark, and JS will somehow tie everything together and then die.

There are so many different characters from so many differant threads that connect to NEd's Sister and the events in the south. The Marsh kids father, the Dornishmen, Lanniusters,Tarrgaryeons, those events are the one common thread and are key to the book.

Arya. . . it's hard to see how she will be reintroduced but I have a feeling she will. All her training and the awakening of her Warg abilites have to be relevant.

The new King's guard is Gregor. 100%. Zero question on this point. The Hound might be the one that kills him though. Also, Sansa and the Hound, future star crossed lovers?
