I'd love to know this as well.

And are there any slots left on this ravello\whiskey (depending on which it turns out to be, I'm good with either) boot preorder? If so how do I "sign my name" into the group? Thanks.

cross post from alden thread....patina on ravello and whiskey after a few months. I've obviously stated my pref for whiskey, but I think this shows how similar they can be.

Anyone interested in either of the LWBs below? Both were makeups from Leffot, neither of which are [reportedly] planned for a reorder.

232
Brown Chromexcel LWB, Barrie last, double waterlock soles

Kudu LWB, Barrie last, plantation crepe soles

for what it's worth, The Bureau carries a nicer (imho) version of the Kudu, and is supposedly restocking these in the fall; however, I don't think they carry wide sizes, which is what I need (9E on the Barrie last) - I love both, and would be interested if wide sizes were available -

Wish these were on commando. I don't like how the leather reacts after getting drenched in water. The crepe is great though. Is the Kudu pretty water resistant?

It is supposed to be water resistant.  That's one of the primary marketed advantages of it.  See: http://leffot.com/shop/alden-x-leffot-kudu-longwing-blucher/ and http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/index.cfm/Shoes-Kudu_Plain_Toe_308.htm.

Kudu is very good in rain and snow - I have 404's and The Bureau's Kudu boots - IMHO, the Bureau's Kudu boots are excellent: functional, comfortable and good looking - they are my go to weekend and wet weather  boot

I'm interested in a Kudu LWB on commando or crepe soles.

FYI, I recieved a reply from Leffot about this shoe stating that they have not yet reordered it, but are planning to do so. However, no time frame was suggested.

no, no traction - doesn't look like it's going to happen, at least not right now

sorry -

Just throwing this out there. I wonder if there is any interest in the Kudu LWB on a different last (i.e. something other than Barrie).

On one hand, a bit of a selfish plea from a non-Barrie foot, and also, perhaps offering this in a non-standard last would draw extra interest in an MTO.

Leydon? Plaza? Modified?

So is there even a current MTO in the works right now? I thought the ravello boot was still going on..... Again, I'd love to join the preorder.

Modified  .  .  . I am ready to move on this.  Plaza would work too.
