FYI, looks like the dressier version may be a cigar version. The vote is 5 to 4, Cigar on the dressier version. Ravello on the more casual one. Voting form updated here.

Is the rugged version still going to be with a storm welt? I thought you said in an earlier post it will be a flat welt now?

Otherwise, not sure it is really worth going to the effort of having two different makeups where the difference is only last and sole (albeit the two most significant things). Let's keep things as is right now and see how the voting turns out.
No one wanted speedhooks on the original makeup, so not inclined to make that change now.

I'd go for a flat welt, and would be 100% out if speed hooks were included. I don't trust Alden to install the hooks correctly and I don't want to deal with them falling out.

Yeah unfortunately I am out of the Obscura boot order, I would rather go with the Tanker in NYR's thread but swap #4 for Ravello. I'm also strongly considering the original Epaulet whiskey boot makeup which sounds gorgeous.

I voted twice, I'm considering getting both makeups if they do end up being different colors from each other.

I am out as there is no option for a Barrie last. Good luck with the order.

If you are able, maybe see if you can visit Alden of SF and try on a Leydon in an E width?

I'm still holding out hope for interest in the mixed media boot. In my head I'm picturing Mark McNairy but better looking and better quality...

Mike, thanks for putting this version up with the quickness. Going to be sick although 2 years from now. HAHAHA.

Options and voting still up on the dressier version on the Grant and Double Waterloc Oiled Flex Sole. Cigar and ravello are in a tight race, with Cigar in the lead 5 to 4. And the vote for the last is 6 to 3, Grant over Plaza. You can vote here.

This is why I'm against it myself. I don't want to plunk down hundreds, non-refundable. What if the order never comes in or whatever company you placed the order with goes out of business during that time?

ON TO THE NEXT ONE.........How about a Balmoral or Short Wing Shoe? Alot of boots being done here. Maybe a Cigar and Snuff suede Two-tone?

Cross post from the Epaulet Alden special makeup thread. This was based on the preferences already voiced, we just didn't have color 4 available to us.

I've created a poll to see if we can get consensus for a special makeup Alden shoe. Forgive me if this doesn't work right it's my first time creating with Google docs.

Please vote here for your choices:

See results here:

Let me know if there are any major choices I've left out.
