There is also the chance that you could have some spotting, but the darker the color, the least likely. Spruce uses Riri, right? Riri does have a prepared for dye zipper, that would dye fine. I wonder if that zipper is pfd?

I might offer to dye it for like $20 or $30. I have gray, but it is more of a charcoal. I am recovering from hernia surgery now, so I would need someone else to put in the 10lbs of salt for me

So, that's why I haven't heard from you recently...

Is this one of the 100% cotton hoodies, or one of the polyblend hoodies? If it's a polyblend, I'm not sure that the flock and the rest of body have the same composition, so you may end up with an unusual effect.

j., how much do you want to spend? I may be able to find something if you don't give me a ridiculous pricerange like $20-50.

Yeah, I figured trying to dye at home would be a terrible idea if I didn't want to buy a new washing machine and set up a studio (some day, maybe, but not yet). The zipper is Riri, but I'd be surprised if the zipper were prepped for dying. I can't imagine why they'd do it, at least, as I don't think the hoodie was intended for dying. If you'd be willing to dye it eventually (I'm in no rush), I'd really appreciate it. Not sure how far charcoal would be from a slate grey, but I can't imagine it would look bad. That is a very nice offer. Hope the recovery goes well, by the way. Surgery sucks.

Yeah, 100% cotton. Don't think they ever made a tiger fleece in white, did they?

Yeah, I really haven't felt 100% for about 5 months now. The hernia was pretty draining...

Thanks for the well wishes Arethusa...

I don't know if this is the right place for this or not but I am going to be trying my hand at garment dying some t-shirts, organic cotton, hemp, and bamboo, in indigo, a traditional black dye and a copper dye. I would love to show pictures and everything. Let me know if there is a better place for this post.
