Getting my stomach a bit smaller?

Thread Starter
I would like to cut a bit in my waist/stomach area over the next 3-4 weeks for my wedding. I am doing cardio and situps. As far as diet, what should I consider doing? Cutting all carbs, sugar, etc.

Thanks.

Eat mostly lean protein and veggies (not starches). If you really want to eat fruits, bread or sweets then eat them at the start of the day. The biggest thing that helps me is having a light dinner and leaving 2-3 hours before I go to bed.

what he said except for the eating at the start of the day part. it wont do anything for fat loss, but it might help with better cognitive performance in the morning

Only way to get stomach smaller is to get leaner all over.

Lower calorie intake along with reducing fats, carbs and sugars.

I would recommend a nice 3-4 week water fast. You'll look nice and trim for the big day!

Don't mind Scooby's attempt at physical humor, the simple meals he prepares have helped me trim almost all of my stomach blubber off. Very important are flavorings to your meals - Salsa, Sriracha Hot Sauce, no sugar added Marinara Sauce. It'll keep things from getting bland. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9J5uHdUsNs Also, don't drink your calories.

Just make sure not to cut out fats completely... just eat healthy fats.

Yes. Plenty of butter, cheese, and red meat.

Spot reduction is a myth - you cant selectively reduce fat from one area of your body by doing certain exercises (ConcernedParent is onto it). Running is probably the easiest one to get into, but if you're really motivated you should also include weight lifting in your regime (muscles require more energy to keep so they burn more, even when resting). IMO diets are retarded. Theres no need to cut out carbs, or eat high protein diets or whatever. Just dont have massive portions and make 90% of your diet the healthy choice and you should be fine. Replace soda for water too. My diet is usually something along these lines: Breakfast: oats + banana Lunch: sandwich of some sort. usually some variation of chicken/tuna/avocado/lettuce/beetroot/carrot/cheese Dinner: stir fry/home made pizza/steak+potato pumpkin mash Snacks: apple, banana, mandarin, peanuts Ideally you'd make this a permanent change - its taken me a few years to get a regular healthy diet, but i have no trouble with weight now.

+1. I am cutting body fat and eating whatever the fuck I want. I just go to the gym about 3 times a week.

Don't bother with the situps. Hit the gym instead and move some weight, you won't get "too big" or anything like that.

Shed all your water weight the week of the wedding. I.E. cut carbs and salt quite a bit (you don't need to cut them out entirely except the salt). I find a diuretic like coffee makes me look leaner.
This is all temporary though, as soon as you carb up you'll take on all the water again, but it could help for the photos.

You forgot to add: OP: Reduce your food intake and do more cardio... and keep your protein levels up. Yes, you may risk losing muscle, but in the time frame you want to lose weight by, its a risk you will have to take. Edit: And cut out carbs completely, at least until the wedding.
