Selvedge Denim Shorts - Page 2

I don't wear jorts, but the ones you posted in the WAYWT were pretty swell. As long as they're not the stereotypical baggy, dad wash jorts I really don't see what the problem is.

i got a pair of white levi's hemmed even shorter. really, they were too long. bad proportions.

looks great with a linen gingham shirt.

Hmmm...I wear a lot of cutoffs -- mostly khakis/fatigues just cuz i'm cheap, and the appeal of cutoffs to me is the IDGAF-ness. Cuffing shorts seems to run against that. Jean shorts can be OK the most casual of situations provided they're not too tight...YMMV, of course.

Edit: Now see your WAWT photo: That actually looks like something someone would buy. Very tidily done.

Thanks. Yea, I wear cut offs a lot in the summer (basically old trousers) so I figured I'd try this out.

i can see some people wearing them ... but not recently. in the 80s it say okay.

This made me lol. I figured people cuff their jeans to show the selvedge line, and I had a pair of JCrew Franks that were getting ZERO wear (don't know what I was thinking when i bought these) so for $18 I'd have them hemmed and cuffed...

A buddy of mine wears his old 511s as cutoffsd and they look cool (not your typical "jean short") which gave me the idea. Those aren't cuffed though.

Cut offs, with tank tops and colored frame sunglasses, are the look of choice for a certain segment of society that will remain unnamed. Not that that makes cut offs inherently bad, just suspect.

Someone post that Berlin Report jort WAYWT to strike down all of the naysayers. Then again, that's the only time I've seen them worn in an acceptable manner.

I love my Bruder but I'm not sure he's the "man's man" you had in mind as an exception to the rule.
