How much do you spend on clothes per year? - Page 4

Haven't answered the poll..................I like some discretion.........
But it's always too much for certain people around me and not enough for me......
It also greatly depends on the income which can swing pretty much...

I would say I spend around 5,000 maybe a bit more. I can't say for sure, there are some years I spend more then others weither or not I have gotten more suits or whatever.

I'm just wondering what the "style gods" on here spend per year. I know its liable to make me cry but I need to figure out whether I'm ever going to be able to afford that kind of wardrobe.

Don't make me really think of the answer to this question. I avoid thinking about things like this.

I'm probably around $3-5K or so. I don't really buy too many suits or shoes so it's mostly casual stuff and the occasional shirt at this point.

You were actually who I had in mind. I searched "tom ford" on ebay.

 

Those ties are more expensive than my "nicest" suit.

It is funny mainly because I never really thought of that until I came across this thread. What I do know is that I never want to spend too much on trendy items.

I've made this mistake with Prada and BBBF when I was into those goods. I feel better about the items I buy now, although the amount I spend could be reduced.

I've spent way more in the past year (joined SF, finished grad school, started a new job) than I hope to settle into as my spending patterns long term...but I think I've gotten a lot of value.

I basically want to have a classic wardrobe built up by 30-35 and not buy stuff unless something is damaged or I happen to see the perfect tie, ps, sc, etc.

 

Right now I literally have one rack, two dressers, and a wardrobe full of clothes that DON'T fit or that i WON'T wear. I need to stop spending time/money on stupid shit on ebay, and hang on to that money until I can afford good quality but not Tom Ford levels of crazy bespoke.

I keep an excel file of what I spend a year. It's actually quite appalling although I end up returning / selling a lot of stuff. Main issue is that I have nowhere to try on / look at / feel most of the stuff I'm buying most of the year in Indiana. When I'm in California I would rarely buy stuff as you can try stuff on first. But with Mr. Porter / Park & Bond I went crazy this winter.

Reevolving keeps my financial records so that I don't have to think about it.
